Paraplu Rouge® Rose of Sharon is a striking plant that blooms profusely with large, dark red-pink flowers all summer long. Its graceful, upright habit adds elegance and color to any garden, making it an excellent choice for a colorful hedge or specimen plant. The plant's taller-than-wide form fits neatly into borders, creating a stately, well-defined hedge that adds vertical interest and beauty. With its abundant blooms and refined shape, Paraplu Rouge® is perfect for adding both vibrant color and structure to your landscape.

  • 6-10 feet tall and 5 feet wide at maturity

  • Plant in full sun (6+ hours daily)
  • Space plants 5 feet apart for best results
  • Produces dark reddish-pink flowers throughout summer
  • Maintains dark green foliage spring to frost
  • Blooms on new wood
  • Great for borders, containers, screening, landscape, mass planting or as a focal point

Customers praised these plants as "healthy" with "copious blooms" and thriving growth. Plants arrived well-packaged with clear planting directions. However, one shopper was disappointed that plants were cut to 14 inches for shipping, affecting future shape. Most customers reported excellent health and fast shipping, with blooms appearing in the first season.

Healthy Plants

The two Rose of Sharon plants I ordered arrived in good shape and looking very healthy, with clear directions for planting. It remains to be seen how well it grows/flowers, but so far so good.

Planted this last July, zone 8b north Florida. It bloomed a bit the first summer, then lost its leaves over the winter but now in May it's about to explode with buds. Excited to see it in full bloom.

Thank you for your review! 😊

Once finally delivered (7 days in transit to NC), I was pained to see Proven Winners cut the plants down to 14 inches tall. NO WHERE in the fine print does their website say they will butcher back plants to fit them inside a box. Very disheartening. Butchering them back changes the shape of the shrub. Next spring there will be a profuse sprouting of shoots at every cut. What a mess. Why not put them in larger boxes and charge extra shipping? This was my first and last online plant order. That said they get 2 stars for healthy plants. Of three purchased, only one was in distress from drying out.

Hi Darlene,

Thank you for reaching out! We can assure you that we do not trim our shrubs to fit in their boxes. Your Rose of Sharon was pruned by our pruning machine. Our shrubs are pruned at the discretion of our team of growers at the appropriate time for the variety. Pruning encourages stronger stems and new growth and will not affect the health of the plant. :)

Please let us know if you have any questions!

Sincerely,
PWD Team

I have planted all three that I purchased, and look forward to seeing them get much larger. In fact, one was very attractive to my dogs, who tried to get in to eat them. Keep them away from dogs. :)

Paraplu Rouge® Rose of Sharon (Hibiscus syriacus)

The joy of opening the box was exhilarating, there it was this beautiful Paraplu Rouge Rose of Sharon. It was so healthy the leaves was green the stem thick for the size. Proven Winners plants are wonderful I cannot complain. The price can be high but it is worth the money. Next year in my garden when I have to add anything my money will be saved to purchase from Proven Winners. Thank you for sending me the best, I feel special.
