Magenta Chiffon Rose of Sharon bursts with vibrant, deep magenta blooms that stand out in any garden, boasting a solid, saturated color with no hint of variation, creating a stunning display of ruffled, double flowers that cluster together for weeks during the summer, offering a textured and impactful presence with its rich, powderpuff-like appearance.

  • 8-12 feet tall and 6-10 feet wide at maturity
  • Hardy in zones 5-9, be sure to check your USDA zone to ensure success
  • Plant in full sun (6+ hours daily)
  • Space plants 6-10 feet apart for best results
  • Produces double magenta flowers throughout summer
  • Maintains dark green foliage spring through frost
  • Great for borders, containers, screening, landscape, mass planting or as a focal point
  • Attracts bees, butterflies and hummingbirds while resisting deer
  • Heat, drought and salt tolerant, long blooming, low maintenance, clay tolerant

Care: Fertilize with Proven Winners® Continuous Release Plant Food in spring and midsummer. Requires well-draining soil. Regular pruning is not necessary. If any shaping is desired, do so in early spring. Note that Rose of Sharon is quite late to leaf out in spring, so be patient with it.

Customers praised the plants as "beautiful and strong" with fast shipping. Most arrived in great condition and began blooming quickly. However, some shoppers reported shipping issues including wilted plants, dry soil, frozen damage, and inconsistent sizing - particularly Magenta variants being smaller than expected with poor root systems.

Magenta Chiffon® Rose of Sharon (Hibiscus syriacus)

I ordered 4 Magenta Chiffon Rose of Sharon and received them via FedEx Sep 18, 2025. One was upside down in box and 2 were sideways inbox. The top of all looks like a deer snip each branch and the plant don’t look healthy. I will plant them tomorrow and hope they grow and become healthy Rose of Sharon!

Thank you for sharing your review of your Magenta Chiffon® Rose of Sharons. It looks like your Rose of Sharons were just pruned. All plants get pruned at the discretion of the growers at the greenhouse. Maintaining the health and vitality of shrubs inside the greenhouse is crucial. Trimming encourages new growth, promotes root strength, extends bloom time, and controls their shape for aesthetic appeal.

If your Magenta Chiffon® Rose of Sharons do not end up doing well, please respond to this email with updated photos of their conditions and we would be happy to help!

Sincerely,
PWD Team

Magenta Chiffon® Rose of Sharon (Hibiscus syriacus)

I ordered three varieties of the 'Chiffon' Rose of Sharon shrubs. Two were really nice sized (Blue & Dark Lavender), but the Magenta version was very small in comparison that it looked like it shuld have been a quart instead of a gallon. In addition, when planting them we noticed the small Magenta one barely had any root system in the nursery pot (all the soil just crumbled apart to reveal a little root ball with tiny roots). The two larger plants appeared to have more well-formed roots. A bit worried that the little Magenta won't make it in the August heat in Kansas.

Thank you for sharing your review of your Magenta Chiffon® Rose of Sharon. We're sorry to see this! We're happy to replace it or issue store credit if you wish. :) Please respond to this email and let us know which works best for you!

Sincerely,

Too early to tell about the blooms or plant.
But I am disappointed in the size of the gallon plant. It could have been a quart. Info said gallon plants are 6” to 24” tall. Pictures of gallon plant show at least about 15” tall. Mine was trimmed down to about 6”.

Thank you for sharing! Please, respond to this email.

Not Magenta

Not Magenta.
its healthy and blooming, but more of a pink chiffon and not magenta chiffon. IF these are just light colored early blooms, I'll update my review accordingly. The rest of my order.. blue chiffon, lavender chiffon, red pillar are exactly as ordered, healthy and blooming.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. Please send pictures of the Magenta Chiffon to HelpDesk@ProvenWinnersDirect.com so we can assist further.😊🌺
