Fire Light Tidbit® is a dwarf hydrangea which is great for the front of the beds, borders, or edges with a bun-shaped habit and proportionately sized rounded blooms that are so abundant they nearly block out the textured foliage. The late-season blooms emerge a creamy, light green-white and quickly begin to turn raspberry pink, while the foliage transitions to hues of orange, maroon, and red in the fall, creating a stunning display of color.

  • 2-3 feet tall and 3 feet wide at maturity
  • Hardy in zones 3-8, be sure to check your USDA zone to ensure success
  • Plant in part sun (4+ hours daily) in southern climates and part to full sun in northern climates
  • Space plants 3 feet apart for best results
  • Produces white flowers in late summer, aging to shades of pink and red in the fall
  • Maintains green foliage spring and summer, maturing to hues of orange, maroon, and red in the fall
  • Blooms on new wood
  • Great for borders, containers, landscapes, hedges, cut and dried flowers
  • Salt tolerant, fall interest, dwarf habit

Care:  Fertilize with Proven Winners Continuous Release Plant Food in spring and mid-summer. Prefers well-drained soil that does not remain soggy for any amount of time. To prune, simply cut back by one-third of its total height every spring, just as new growth begins to emerge on stems. Make cuts just about 1/4 of an inch above a bud. Dead or damaged wood can be removed at any time.

Tiny and one was upside down in the sealed box

Tiny and one was upside down in the sealed box, causing several branches to break off. For the money, not very happy.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We apologize for the inconvenience caused. Please send photos to HelpDesk@ProvenWinnersDirect.com and we would be happy to help!

The plant came to me in very rough condition, more than likely the shippers fault. So now, I’m just trying to get it more established in its can before putting in the landscape next spring. It looks okay in the picture. But I didn’t know there was a whole branch that was broken and later came off.

Thank you for sharing your review of your Fire Light Tidbit® Panicle Hydrangea. If your ground is not frozen yet, we would recommend planting this as soon as possible. Your Hydrangea will have the best chance of survival if it is planted in the ground. Our plants are acclimated to the outdoors and will be the happiest in the ground!😊

If it does not survive the winter, you can send us updated photos in the spring and we would be happy to replace it if needed.

Sincerely,
PWD Team

The little Tidbit we received was small, as it needed to be for shipping purposes, but well branched and healthy. I can’t wait for spring to see it grow larger and hopefully flower.

Beautiful and thriving!! Thank you for sharing your photo with us!😊

I love proven winners plants! I have several including the Firelight Tidbit. It has been the only one not to survive. Dropped all it's leaves. Still hoping it will recover.

Fire Light Tidbit® Panicle Hydrangea (paniculata)

Twelve plants were ordered and delivered on scheduled within two days, packaged well and were in excellent condition. They were planted directly into landscape and seem to be thriving well so far. I can’t wait until they bloom this summer. Customer service was excellent. They assisted me with my order during the ordering process and were responsive, timely, and courteous, providing options on acquiring the product. I highly recommend Proven Winners Direct to be the place to buy plants, bushes, etc. I will purchase from them again.

Beautiful!! 😍

My plants arrived very quickly and were lush and green! They were packed well, but the delivery people laid the box on its side and some of the soil was disrupted to spite the arrows clearly marked on the box! No fault of Proven Winners. I’m so excited to get my Firelight Tidbits planted!

Thank you for sharing!! Enjoy!😊

Little disappointed

Ordered two of these, shipping was great, received very fast as I live in Michigan . Disappointed in the one plant, they clipped all the branchs & leafs off on the one plant, sad! The other one has 3 stems with leaves left on it.. I realize they do clip them for shipping but this was crazy! I hope one lives with just the main stem and not a full branch or leaf to be seen. At the price of each one plus shipping I hope they live.

Hi there, thank you for sharing your experience. We’re sorry to hear about the condition of one of your plants. Please send us pictures at HelpDesk@ProvenWinnersDirect.com so we can assist you further.😊🌺

Struggling now, but I'm hopeful.

The plants (ordered 2) are not doing well. One appears to be dying. The other is staying the same. Planted in good soil withpart sun. The weather could be the problem. Really hot one day and then cold the next. I'll keep trying to get them to thrive.

Nice looking plants

They look very healthy. We have just planted them the last couple days and they seem happy. We however are expecting a few inches of snow on Wednesday with a low of 29. Do I need to protect them?

Hi there! Thank you for your review. We are glad to hear that you are pleased with the appearance and health of your Fire Light Tidbit® Panicle Hydrangea. As for the expected snow, we recommend covering the plants with a cloth or tarp to protect them from any potential damage.
