Limelight Hydrangea has huge, football-shaped flowers that open in an elegant celadon green that looks fresh and clean in summer's heat. The blooms age to an array of pink, red, and burgundy which persists through frost for months of irresistible flowers. A long-time favorite of professional florists, it also makes an excellent cut flower, fresh or dried. It is drought tolerant and blooms every year, even in cold climates.

  • 6-8 feet tall and wide at maturity
  • Hardy in zones 3-9, be sure to check your USDA zone to ensure success
  • Plant in part to full sun (4+ hours daily)
  • Space plants 7-8 feet apart for best results
  • Produces green flowers in mid-summer that transform to pink, red, and burgundy in fall
  • Maintains green foliage spring to frost
  • Blooms on new wood
  • Great for borders, hedges, landscapes, cut and dried flowers
  • Drought tolerant, long blooming, fall interest, salt tolerant

Care:  Fertilize with Proven Winners Continuous Release Plant Food in spring and mid-summer. Prefers well-drained soil that does not remain soggy for any amount of time. To prune, simply cut back by one-third of its total height every spring, just as new growth begins to emerge on stems. Make cuts just about 1/4 of an inch above a bud. Dead or damaged wood can be removed at any time.

'Limelight' Panicle Hydrangea (paniculata)

This review is not for the plant itself but for the quality of the plants I received.

I have no complaints about the customer service, they promptly provided replacements.

The plants themselves arrived in a very stressed, almost dead condition. I order many plants online from many different vendors, including trees, and they always arrive in a heathy and satisfactory condition. The replacement plants arrived healthy, so not sure what happens at the initial shipment!

Do better, Proven Winners, with quality control.

Thank you for your review! We are happy to hear that the replacement plants arrived in good condition!😊

'Limelight' Panicle Hydrangea (paniculata)

It arrived in a small, worn-out box, and as for the hydrangea, the branches were cut off roughly and looked almost dead. On top of that, the plant itself was extremely small.
Since I felt sorry to let it die, I transplanted it into a larger outdoor pot, gave it nutrients and water, and only just now some new leaves are starting to appear. I’m hoping it will grow before the weather cools down.
Under normal circumstances I would have returned it, but the timing was bad as I was away on a trip, so I decided to keep it and try to nurture it. Even so, I still can’t say I’m very satisfied.

Thank you for sharing your review of your 'Limelight' Panicle Hydrangea. We're sorry to see this! We're happy to replace it or issue store credit if you wish. :) Please respond to this email and let us know which works best for you!

They came packaged ok. I planted the next day. After a few days they got brown spots on the leaves. What can I do to get rid of the spots

Thank you for sharing your review of your 'Limelight' Panicle Hydrangeas. We are happy to help! It looks like the spots are just on the old leaves and the new growth is not affected, which is a great sign! You can just prune off the leaves that have the spots on them.😊

My New Hydrangeas

Both hydrangeas arrived in perfect condition. Ive only planted one in the ground and it's doing very well. The second shrub is being gifted to a friend tomorrow. It looks very healthy and I'm certain it will do fine when planted.

Very grateful that you ship dormant plants. Most companies do not and shipping begins after it is already too hot here for new plants to get settled in.
We are in the 80’s by February so no rootgrowth takes place when starting in April like most growers do and things remain essentially potted plants without resources to grow well in our brutal summers.
Thank you!
Looking forward to adding more specimens.

Thank you for your review! Enjoy!😊
