White Pillar® Rose of Sharon naturally grows as a narrow column, so it takes up just a fraction of the space that conventional roses of Sharon do. This variety sports pure white, semi-double blooms summer through fall that attract pollinators while the foliage resists deer. Plant alongside your front entrance, as the centerpiece to a formal container, as a privacy screen, or a dramatic specimen.
10-16 feet tall and 4-5 feet wide at maturity
Hardy in zones 5-9, be sure to check your USDA zone to ensure success
Plant in full sun (6+ hours daily)
Space plants 4-5 feet apart for best results
Produces white flowers throughout summer
Maintains green foliage spring to frost
Blooms on new wood
Great for borders, containers, screening, landscape, mass planting or as a focal point
Attracts bees, butterflies and hummingbirds while resisting deer
Heat, drought and salt tolerant, long blooming, low maintenance, clay tolerant
Care: Fertilize with Proven Winners® Continuous Release Plant Food in spring and midsummer. Requires well-draining soil.Regular pruning is not necessary. If any shaping is desired, do so in early spring. Note that Rose of Sharon is quite late to leaf out in spring, so be patient with it.
