'Viva Polonia' Clematis is a stunning, long-blooming vine that dazzles with large, deep pink-red flowers, each featuring a striking white star at its center. Beginning its vibrant display in early summer, it continues to produce an abundance of blooms well into mid-summer. This elegant climber is perfect for adding beauty to trellises, railings, posts, arbors, pergolas, fences, or any vertical space that could use a touch of color. With its eye-catching flowers and continuous bloom, 'Viva Polonia' Clematis is an exquisite addition to any garden or landscape.

  • 4-6 feet tall and 3-5 feet wide at maturity
  • Hardy in zones 4-9, be sure to check your USDA zone to ensure success
  • Plant in part to full sun (4+ hours daily)
  • Space plants 3-5 feet apart for best results
  • Produces deep pink-red flowers with white star centers early to mid-summer
  • Maintains green foliage spring through frost
  • Blooms on old and new wood
  • Great for borders, containers, edging, screening, landscape or as a focal point
  • Long blooming, deadheading not necessary

Care: Best in full sun or light shade, keep base and roots completely shaded. "Feet in the shade, head in the sun" is a saying you may have heard for successfully growing clematis, so plant it where the vine gets sunshine, but the roots stay cool. You can accomplish this with mulch, or by shading the root zone with a nearby shrub or perennial. Prune back to 3 feet as new growth emerges in early spring. Fertilize with Proven Winners Continuous Release Plant Food in spring and mid-summer.

The Viva Polonia Clematis arrived in OK shape but with strong roots. The largest "limb" was hanging on by a thread. I left it attached hoping that it might provide some support. The packaging was good and my other plants were in very good shape. This plant is going in a raised bed in October, in zone 8b, so it can winter in. I am optimistic that it will come back strong in the spring.

This is the second plant to add to a client's garden. Lost the first to a fertilizer overdose. Planted this one in a very prominent place to catch your eye from the curb and as you enter the front drive. Arrived in good condion and with enough starter leads to get off to a good start.

I planted this clematis late in the season last year and was disappointed in its performance. But it reappeared in the Spring and is now producing amazing growth and flowers. I love PW plants!!
