Shadowland® Empress Wu makes a fantastic statement in your shade garden with gigantic upright mounds of thick, dark green leaves topped with pale lavender-purple flowers in early summer. It is the largest known hosta available and provides interesting foliage for containers or landscapes.

  • 36-48 inches tall and 60-72 inches wide at maturity
  • Scape height 48 inches
  • Hardy in zones 3-9, be sure to check your USDA zone to ensure success
  • Plant in part to full shade (4 or less hours of sun daily)
  • Space plants 60-72 inches apart for best results
  • Produces lavender-purple flowers in early to mid summer
  • Maintains dark green foliage spring to frost
  • Great for borders, landscapes or as a focal point

  • Foliage interest

Care: Clean away the dead foliage after frost to prevent insect problems. Fertilize with Proven Winners® Continuous Release Fertilizer in the spring.
