A wonderfully tall grass, Graceful Grasses® Purple Fountain Grass has burgundy seed heads that rest atop neat bronze-purple foliage that seems to always be swaying pleasantly in the wind. While this grass should be treated as an annual in areas that fall below 20 degrees F, it can provide excellent winter interest when frozen over and covered in ice!

  • 30-36 inches tall and 12-24 inches wide at maturity
  • Annual except in zones 9-11, be sure to check your USDA zone to ensure success
  • Plant in part to full sun (4 to 6+ hours daily)
  • Space plants 18-24 inches apart for best results
  • Maintains bronze-purple foliage with burgundy seed heads from planting to first frost
  • Great for containers, cut flowers, dried flowers, grass, landscapes, mass planting
  • Heat tolerant, deadheading not necessary

Care: Fertilize with Proven Winners Continuous Release Plant Food in spring and midsummer. Cut back in fall, or by mid to late spring. If you live in an area where fire isn't a problem, you can leave the dried grasses and seed heads in your garden for winter interest.
