Bloomerang® Dark Purple displays very large dark purple buds emerging in mid to late spring. They open to a classic deep purple-lilac color and perfume the air for weeks. The plant then takes a brief rest to create new growth before it starts to bloom again in mid to late summer, continuing through frost. It is noted for its exceptional disease resistance while attracting butterflies and resisting deer and rabbits. The neat, rounded shape looks good in the landscape or garden, and is a great choice for foundation plantings.

  • 4-6 feet tall and wide at maturity
  • Hardy in zones 3-7, be sure to check your USDA zone to ensure success
  • Plant in full sun (6+ hours daily)
  • Space plants 4-6 feet apart for best results
  • Produces fragrant purple flowers in the spring and reblooms mid summer to fall
  • Maintains green foliage from spring through frost
  • Blooms on new and old wood
  • Great for cut flowers, containers, landscapes, foundation plantings, mixed borders

Care:  Fertilize with Proven Winners Continuous Release Plant Food in spring and mid summer. A light trim is recommended just after spring bloom. This will give the plant a tidy appearance and encourage a more abundant rebloom, although it will delay it a bit. Trimming isn’t necessary to get the plant to rebloom.

We were excited to receive "Proven Winners" brand of "Bloomerang Reblooming Lilacs", last week. After unpacking and several days of sunshine and some water the leaf buds finished their fulfillment. We transferred the plants to gallon containers and hope they become the beautiful shrubs we envisioned here in zone 9A.

Bloomerang® Dark Purple Reblooming Lilac (Syringa x)

Disappointing. Plant was just in ok shape upon arrival. Soil and leaves were dry. Looks like it may have been pruned incorrectly and some of the leaves were scorched. Size was on the smaller side for a gallon. Watered ASAP.

Bloomerang Dark Purple order.

I ordered four Dark Purple Lilacs and they came in a very neat box. One plant however was a bit beat up and broken. I planted them all and so far they all are looking great. Can't wait for them to get large enough for some beautiful purple blooms. For the most part, I'm very pleased with the plants and will order some more in the fall.
