Supertunia® Royal Velvet® has deep purple flowers that bloom all season. Supertunia petunias are vigorous with slightly mounded habits that function as both fillers and spillers in containers. They are also excellent landscape plants, best suited to be placed near the front of beds. This award winner is heat and drought tolerant, attracts pollinators and does not need to be deadheaded.

  • 4-12 inches tall and 18-24 inches wide at maturity
  • Annual except in zones 10-11, be sure to check your USDA zone to ensure success
  • Plant in part to full sun (4+ hours daily)
  • Space plants 12-24 inches apart for best results
  • Produces deep purple flowers from spring to hard frost
  • Maintains green foliage from spring to hard frost
  • Great for landscapes, containers, hanging baskets, window boxes
  • Attracts butterflies and hummingbirds
  • Heat and drought tolerant, long blooming, deadheading not necessary

Care: Fertilize weekly with Proven Winners Water Soluble Plant Food for best performance. Give a light trim anytime you think it's needed or at least once in July and once in August. Never trim off more than 20% of the branches.

My plants all looked wilted and the soil came out of three

My plants all looked wilted and the soil came out of three. I immediately soaked them to get them hydrated but three did not survive. This same thing happened a while back when I ordered three raspberry beret cone flowered. One of those lost soil and did not survive. It’s so discouraging I’m doubtful I will order again

I spent over $400 on my order. 11 of 12 royal velvet Supertunias arrived nearly dead, and desoite consistent care, they continued to decline and die. I have reached out to customer service via email, Instagram, and Facebook, and have not received any help. Considering I paid about $4 more per plant than I would have at big box retailers, I fairly expected better quality and service. Also, consider ordering directly through provenwinners.com— because they said that they are not able to assist me with my order despite being affiliated with provenwinnersdirect.com

First I would like to say that all other plants I have purchased were well protected and their size was impressive.

This item was a little disappointing because it was a smaller plant and half of it was smashed during shipment, which left just a small piece for me to nurse back to health. I am hopeful the plant will make it and if it does this variety is usually hardy. Fingers crossed!
