Sprinter® Boxwood (Buxus microphylla)

My order was packaged well but I’m disappointed with the size and condition of the plants I received. Much smaller than I expected (1 gallon) and the top half is completely chopped off, making them even smaller and awkward looking. I thought they would have their natural shape and a bit more growth. I later found out that Home Depot sells the Proven Winners Sprinter Boxwoods for less and double the size (2 gallons). I will be buying there next time.

Thank you for sharing your review of your Sprinter® Boxwood. We trim our shrubs for their health and to help promote growth. Here is a very helpful blog on the benefits of trimming shrubs:

Does your other Boxwood look the same? If so, could you please send a photo of that as well? I see that you ordered these plants in February, did you put them outside at that time? That would explain why there are some brown leaves on the top. Plants that are ordered in the Winter should be kept indoors through the Winter until your last Spring frost. For your zone, the average last Spring frost date is not until around April 8th.

If you would like replacements, we would be happy to send those later in April so that you can put them outside as soon as you receive them. Please let us know if you have any questions!

Sincerely,
PWD Team

Sprinter® Boxwood (Buxus microphylla)

The boxwood arrived on time, carefully packaged. Beautiful, healthy plants. I planted them right away following the instructions included and have been watering them every day. They seem to be thriving and I have every hope that they will survive the oncoming winter and grow strong next spring. There will be no salt and lots of care.

Beautiful and thriving!! Thank you for sharing your photo with us!

Great experience with a 30-plant bulk order

I ordered 30 Sprinter boxwood (1-gal) to build a low hedge. After some research, I picked this variety for its fast growth. Delivery to CA took 7 days, longer than I expected, and I was worried the plants wouldn't survive the trip.

They arrived in pretty good condition. The plants were well packed, four to a box, and the potting soil was still moist. The root systems are strong and full, roots were already growing out of the drainage holes, and each plant had a few new leaves coming out.

29 out of 30 plants were healthy. One arrived half-dead, most likely damaged by heat or cold during shipping. I emailed the customer service team, and they were very responsive and shipped a replacement plant for me.

I wasn't sure about placing a bulk order online at first, but this turned out to be a great experience.

Thanks so much for trusting us with your 30-plant Sprinter® Boxwood order! We’re glad the plants arrived well packed with healthy roots, and that our team could quickly replace the one that was damaged in transit. Enjoy!😊🌺

Arrived safely and growing well. I needed a lower growing boxwood and these fit my idea for this area. Hopefully won’t smell like cat pee like older varieties do!

Sprinter® Boxwood (Buxus microphylla)

My first order was 22 quart sized Sprinters used to create a hedge separating my garden from the orchard area. The shipping method is outstanding. Each plant is carefully packed, healthy and shaped well.

Today, 32 more were delivered. I was so happy with the first plants that I decided to redesign the landscaping area in front of our garage. It's practically fall here in zone 5 NH, so I will winter them over in the garden and move them to their final home in the spring.

I am very happy to have found PWD as a source of plants for my home.
