Double Delight® Appleblossom exudes a sweet citrus-like fragrance from its large, abundant, white and soft pink bicolor blossoms on cascading stems. It performs well in full sun in the Northeast; southern growers will need to provide some afternoon shade. Increased sun tolerance makes this begonia versatile for use in containers, hanging baskets, window boxes and monoculture containers.

  • 8-14 inches tall and 12-24 inches wide at maturity
  • Annual except in zones 9-11, be sure to check your USDA zone to ensure success
  • Plant in part to full sun (4+ hours daily)
  • Space plants 12-16 inches apart for best results
  • Produces fragrant pink and white flowers from planting to frost
  • Maintains dark green foliage spring through frost
  • Great for containers, hanging baskets
  • Long blooming, deadheading not necessary

Care: Fertilize weekly with Proven Winners Water Soluble Plant Food for best performance. These begonias prefer moist but not wet, well draining soil. These are not hardy, but the corms can be dug up, stored for the winter and replanted the next spring.

I purchased these because they were advertised as fragrant. When I first got them there was practically no fragrance, THe flowers were mostly singles with an occasional double. Once these flowers got going they were lovely to look at. They had about 1/2 single and 1/2 doubles flowers Did notice slight fragrance on sunny afternoons. I live in central New York and I would not recommend putting these in part shade. The plants in full sun did much better and the part shade ones were scraggly. I would buy them again.

This is by far the most beautiful thing I have ever planted. Put 4 in a pot with some wicked witch coleus and it is phenomenal! Left them in the eco-grande pots too! Will buy again for sure!

I can’t even remember why I order this particular begonia but I am sooo glad I did! The blooms grew quicker and they are almost the side of a full size rose! They do get so big that they hang but that does not bother me one bit. I have only had them for a couple of weeks and we haven’t even hit summer yet. I can’t wait to see what these flowers do. If you are in the fence about this one take my word.. 🗣Buy them

No issues with health or delivery! It’s just the floppiness of the flowers makes them hide in the greenery, so the beauty of the blooms gets lost a bit.
That said, I hope they grow like crazy and do better. Fragile but gorgeous flowers.
