Don’t let its compact size fool you—Let’s Dance Big Band® delivers an unforgettable performance. This petite powerhouse is packed with extra-large, vibrant mophead blooms that appear earlier and more often than other bigleaf hydrangeas.

Reblooming faster and weathering winters with ease, it ensures a long, colorful season—from the first warm days of summer until frost. Its pure, saturated colors shift with soil pH: pink in neutral to alkaline soils, and rich blue in acidic conditions with aluminum.

Perfect for small gardens, containers, and tight spaces, Let’s Dance Big Band® brings bold beauty without the guesswork. No more worrying about missed blooms from winter damage or pruning mistakes—just reliable, luxurious color all season long.

Big color. Small space. All season.

  • 2.5 feet tall and wide at maturity
  • Hardy in zones 5-9, be sure to check your USDA zone to ensure success
  • Plant in part to full sun in northern climates and part sun (4+ hours daily) in southern climates
  • Space plants 2.5 feet apart for best results
  • Maintains green foliage spring through summer
  • Produces blue, pink or purple flowers depending on soil pH from summer to frost
  • Blooms on new and old wood
  • Great for borders, cut flowers, edges, low hedges, dried flowers, landscapes, or as a focal point
  • Rebloomer, long blooming, salt tolerant

Care:  Fertilize with Proven Winners Continuous Release Plant Food in spring and mid-summer. Pruning is not generally recommended. Although its flower buds are formed on both old wood and new wood, any cuts will impact its flowering potential. Dead or damaged wood can be removed at any time, just cut back to a set of leaves. If you’d like to prune to shape the plant, this can be done when the plant is starting to break dormancy in late winter or early spring, just look for swelling green leaf buds. Deadheading can be done after bloom, just follow the stem down to the first set of leaves and cut ¼ of an inch above them. Soil pH affects flower color, expect pink blooms in alkaline soils and blue to purple blooms in acidic soils where aluminum is present.
