A stunning combination fitting of the coming season, 'Charleston' is made up of three fan favorites: Supertunia Mini Vista® Midnight (Petunia hybrid), Supertunia® Black Cherry® (Petunia hybrid), and Supertunia® Latte™ (Petunia hybrid). Even better, butterflies and hummingbirds find it just as attractive as people do!

  • 4-12 inches tall and spread up to 18-24 inches at maturity

The 'Charleston' Combination adds instant impact all on its own. There is no easier way to bring quick color to your outdoor containers! If you're interested in using the Thriller, Filler, Spiller container planting technique, our 6.5 Combinations are the perfect Filler. You can use additional Thrillers and Spillers to enhance the look but do be sure to increase your container size to at least 16"-18" allowing for better root growth and increased airflow which decreases disease pressure in the planter.

Suggested Thrillers: ColorBlaze® Lime Time Coleus (Solenostemon) or Angelface® Perfectly Pink Summer Snapdragon (Angelonia)

Suggested Spillers: Proven Accents® Sweet Caroline Sweetheart Lime (Ipomoea) or Silver Falls™ (Dichondra)

 

Care: Fertilize weekly with Proven Winners Water Soluble Plant Food for best growth and color.  These extra applications of plant food really make a difference in performance carrying you through fall until frost! If your container begins to look open or a bit tired, a light trim can be very beneficial. Use a sharp pair of scissors or pruning shears to trim back a maximum of 20% of the plant to encourage more branching.

Cheap Starts Sold As Quick Color for Containers

These were horrible plants. Three small, cheap, barely rooted starts stuffed into an oversized 6.5 inch growers pot. The plants were poorly packed and got knocked around during shipping because of it.

I overpaid for "quick color for containers" expecting plants large enough to drop into pots for a quick dose of color for the fall. What I got was three overpriced, dried out, and banged up starts that I wouldn't have looked at twice if they were on an end of season sales rack. I'll be lucky to get any flowers from these plants before the end of the growing season.

Based on this purchase I've likely made my last purchase from Proven Winners Direct.

One of the 2 was dumped and crumbled, the other was so low in the container with half the dirt was the best of the 2. Again these are annuals with a short shelf life Proven Winners needs to do better.
