Like its namesake, ‘Totem Pole’ switch grass (Panicum virgatum) stands tall and proud, forming a narrow column of striking steel-blue foliage and powdery blue stems. In early fall, golden seed panicles light up the top of the clump, adding a brilliant flourish to its upright form. Its slim footprint makes it the perfect way to add height and drama, even in smaller spaces. Strong, graceful, and versatile, this switch grass sways with a soothing rustle in the breeze and stands firm through winter, offering both beauty and shelter for birds. Whether used as a specimen, in masses, for screening, near water, or even in a large container, ‘Totem Pole’ delivers vertical elegance all year long.
