Dragon Tongue is a delicious heirloom bush bean that’s as ornamental as it is productive. Its buttery yellow pods are boldly streaked with vibrant purple, making them a standout in both the garden and the kitchen. Harvest the tender, stringless pods young for fresh eating, or allow them to mature slightly for use as flavorful shelled beans. This compact, 24–30” tall variety rewards frequent picking with higher yields all season long. As a fun bonus, the striking purple markings magically disappear when cooked.

Sow directly outdoors after last frost once soil temperature reaches 60-85° Beans will rot in cold, damp soil. After planting, do not water until sprouts emerge unless the weather is very hot and dry. This is a warm season vegetable. Fertilize weekly with Proven Winners® Water Soluble Plant Food.
