This stunning and tropical mix takes the guess work out of planting fantastic combinations! The 'Fireworks' combination from the fantastic gardening minds at Proven Winners® is sure to impress the whole neighborhood with bright, perfectly selected colors that go together flawlessly. It's comprised of Laguna® Cloud White™ (Lobelia), Supertunia® Royal Velvet® (Petunia), and Superbena® Red (Verbena).

  • 6-12 inches tall and spread up to 30 inches at maturity
  • Plant in part to full sun (4+ hours daily)
  • Annual except in zones 9-11, be sure to check your USDA zone to ensure success

We recommend planting this combination in 10”-12" containers. They will fill out the entire planter, although a light trim in early July will encourage even more branching!

The 'Fireworks' Combination adds instant impact all on its own. There is no easier way to bring quick color to your outdoor containers! If you're interested in using the Thriller, Filler, Spiller container planting technique, our 6.5 Combinations are the perfect Filler. You can use additional Thrillers and Spillers to enhance the look but do be sure to increase your container size to at least 14"-16" allowing for better root growth and increased airflow which decreases disease pressure in the planter.

Suggested Thrillers: Angelface® Wedgwood Blue Summer Snapdragon (Angelonia) or Unplugged® So Blue™ (Salvia)

Suggested Spillers: Silver Falls™ (Dichondra), Proven Accents® Tricolor (Ipomoea), or Proven Accents® Sweet Caroline Sweetheart Lime (Ipomoea)

Care: Laguna do not like to have constantly damp soil. In containers, allow the top of the soil to dry before watering again. The plants in this combination are low maintenance with no deadheading needed. Fertilize weekly with Proven Winners Water Soluble Plant Food for best growth and color. These extra applications of plant food really make a difference in performance through the summer! If your container begins to look open or a bit tired in mid to late summer, a light trim can be very beneficial. Use a sharp pair of scissors or pruning shears to trim back a maximum of 20% of the plant to encourage more branching.

However, shipping issues are common—plants arrive dry, loose soil, knocked out of containers, and some with missing blue flowers. "Plants are recovering" but packaging improvements needed for perishables.

'Fireworks' 6.5 Inch Combination

The plants are getting big and are lovely. Unfortunately, there’s no blue flowers. I have had to go out and buy my own blue flower which is disappointing considering the price of these plants. There’s no sign of anything new coming up either.

While the plants are thriving and are lovely, there is no blue! I’ve had to go out and buy my own blue plants which is disappointing considering the price.

Wish there was a way to mark your boxes to indicate that IMPORTANT perishable plants are inside box. Drivers dump them on doorstep's haphazardly, leave in full hot sun and/or drop off late in day, when i think these types of valuables should be dropped of first thing in morning. Just suggested ideas, i'm sure no one cares .. plants were pretty beaten up and out of their few containers. Perhaps, putting in a semi plastic wrap to seal in moistened dirt, perhaps to keep alive longer ..

The plants suffered either before or during shipping - or both. Upon arrival, The plants were on the dry side and the soil was too loose and crumbly to support the roots. Two plants had been knocked out of their pots. One plant returned to its pot upside down and sat on its head for however long during shipping. Both plants had broken stem, leaves, and buds. They were put in their pots correctly, had soil added, watered, and put in a garden spot to acclimate. After two days they were planted in the ground with good loam and have received adequate rain. The plants are recovering from their journey and Some white blooms are visible. Too soon to comment otherwise.

Will this combo work on 30” window boxes?
