Sunshine Blue® II Bluebeard is a vibrant and hardy shrub that brightens your garden with its striking gold foliage and beautiful blue blooms from late summer to early fall. Known for its exceptional hardiness, it thrives in hot, dry, sunny spots, making it an ideal choice for tough landscapes. Once established, it is heat and drought tolerant, requiring minimal care while continuing to attract bees and other pollinators. With no need for deadheading to maintain its blooms, Sunshine Blue® II is a low-maintenance, stunning addition to any garden. 

  • 2-3 feet tall and wide at maturity
  • Hardy in zones 5-9, be sure to check your USDA zone to ensure success
  • Plant in full sun (6+ hours daily)
  • Space plants 2-3 feet apart for best results

Bought three and planted last fall, they survived a harsh winter and looks thriving now! Love the bright green leaves, lightens up my flower bed for sure! Look forward to the blooms!!

Sunshine Blue® II Bluebeard (Caryopteris incana)

I like these caryopteris. The plants were very nice, but I had to harden them off a bit and then the big heat dome hit! So I gave them partial shade with burlap until the weather improved. They seem to be doing well now. Hopefully, they will continue to do well. I usually have very good luck with caryopteris and no critters want to eat them.

These are hit or miss as to whether they make it through our severe winters & frosty springs in central IL — but love them & keep replanting this hardy variety — well packaged & arrive healthy.

Received 4 plants in good condition. Planted them in a sunny spot. They seem to be doing ok as we head toward really cold weather and a CT winter. Hope they hang on. Will mulch after I plant some tulip bulbs.

I received my order 5 days after the order was placed. I don’t know if FedEx kept the box upright, since dirt had spilled out off the quart containers. I gave the plants some loving care over a few days. They looked better day after day. Finally I planted them in the flower bed and hopefully they will grow well and flower beautifully! Thank you PW for making plants available to us that we otherwise can not get in local nurseries. 👍👍
