Say hello to Show Off® Sugar Baby® (Forsythia), the perfect addition to your spring garden! With its compact and dwarf size, this tiny plant packs a punch with big bursts of colorful flowers. Create an outstanding spring display and add a pop of color to even the smallest of spaces.
- 1.5-2.5 feet tall and 2-3 feet wide at maturity
- Hardy in zones 5-8, be sure to check your USDA zone to ensure success
- Plant in full to part sun (4+ hours daily)
- Space plants 1.5-2.5 feet apart for best results
- Produces abundant bright yellow flowers starting early in spring
- Maintains green foliage spring to fall
- Blooms on old wood
- Great for landscapes, mixed borders, small spaces, erosion control or as a focal point
- Resists deer
- Drought tolerant, low maintenance, deadheading not necessary, dwarf variety
Care: Fertilize with Proven Winners Continuous Release Plant Food in spring. Grows well in any soil. Pruning has to be perfectly timed not to interfere with flowering. If you’d like to shape it, you can do so just after it finishes flowering in the springtime. Rejuvenation pruning is recommended. Cut 1/3 of the old, thick branches down completely every three to five years. This will encourage the plant to create juvenile growth, which flowers most abundantly.
