Sweetheart Mahogany™ Sweet Potato Vine is a saturated mahogany red and retains its color well in full sun. The habit is mounded due to shorter internodes, but it does trail as it matures through the season. A good match to Sweet Caroline Sweetheart Jet Black and Sweetheart Lime. It's easy to care for, too, making this plant all contrast and no compromise!

  • 6-16 inches tall and 20-36 inches wide at maturity
  • Annual except in zone 11, be sure to check your USDA zone to ensure success
  • Plant in part to full sun (4+ hours daily)
  • Space plants 12-18 inches apart for best results
  • Maintains burgundy-red foliage spring to frost
  • Great for borders, containers, landscapes, mass planting
  • Heat tolerant, foliage interest, deadheading not necessary

Care: Fertilize weekly with Proven Winners Water Soluble Plant Food for best performance. Prune to shape as desired throughout the season.

It is just wilted for some reason

It is just wilted for some reason. It was happy and now it’s dying. It’s moist soil, not dry so not sure what’s going on. The other plant seems to be doing okay and I’ve had them side by side.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review for our Sweet Caroline Sweetheart Mahogany™ Sweet Potato Vine. We're sorry to hear that it seems to be wilting for unknown reasons. Our team would be happy to assist you. Could you please send us an email at helpdesk@provenwinnersdirect.com

FedEx took 4-5 days to deliver so i was a little worried about how my plants would survive the trip. Upon opening the boxes i was happy to find all the plants in great condition. Extremely healthy, great root base, so I couldn’t be happier.

Did not survive one week. Was planted in a hydroponic system so maybe it was too wet, but a replacement (different cultivar)from the local garden center is thriving.

This was easy to grow, stayed controlled in the containers and is a bold look! Some were on drip irrigation, others were in pots that relied on me to remember-they both did equally well. In fact, I think the slightly neglected look the best. Not too aggressive.

Thank you for sharing!! We're so happy to hear that you are enjoying your plants! :)

The plants arrived in absolutely beautiful condition. The colors are unusual and change as the plant grows bigger. I’m abxious to see what the kaleidoscope of colors it has yet to reveal .

My first time growing this. It is vigorous and hardy and is my spiller in several pots and a raised bed. The purplish color goes well with everything.
