The Heart to Heart® 'Scarlet Flame' caladium is a stunning variety that adds bold color and striking texture to any space. Its vivid red, strap-shaped leaves are beautifully marked with pink and white speckles, creating a dynamic visual effect, while a bright green margin completes the look with a crisp, fresh contrast. This caladium thrives in both sun and shade, making it a versatile choice for patio planters, landscapes, and especially borders, where it adds a vibrant splash of color.

Adaptable as a houseplant, 'Scarlet Flame' prefers bright light or a sunny window to fully showcase its stunning foliage. Whether used in outdoor gardens or as part of your indoor décor, this caladium brings a touch of fiery beauty and elegance wherever it's placed.

  • 15-20 inches tall and 10-14 inches wide at maturity
  • Annual except in zones 10-11
  • Plant in sun or shade
  • Space plants 10-14 inches apart for best results
  • Maintains red foliage with white speckles green margins from spring to frost
  • Great for indoor bright spaces, borders, containers, combinations, landscapes, mass planting
  • Resists deer
  • Heat tolerant, foliage interest, adaptable as houseplant
  • Keep away from pets and children, toxic if ingested or consumed

Care: If you live in a northern climate, be careful not to plant too early in spring as temperatures below 60 degrees F will chill and stunt plants. Caladiums like to be moist at all times so avoid allowing them to dry out. Fertilize with Proven Winners Water Soluble Plant Food  at ¼ - ½ strength every week throughout the season.

Houseplant: Caladiums can also be grown as houseplants where they prefer bright light or a sunny window. Keep the temperatures above 65 degrees F for best growth and leaf size, and a pebble tray or frequent misting can help to keep the humidity up around your plants.

According to the ASPCA, caladiums are toxic to animals if consumed.
