Wine & Roses® Weigela displays rosy pink flowers in late spring and will rebloom in summer on rich dark purple foliage that provides a high impact backdrop throughout the season in any garden. This weigela resists deer and attracts hummingbirds and butterflies with it's trumpet-like flowers. It's also fast growing and low maintenance, making it an easy choice for season-long color.

  • 4-5 feet tall and wide at maturity
  • Hardy in zones 4-8, be sure to check your USDA zone to ensure success
  • Plant in full sun (6+ hours daily)
  • Space plants 5-6 feet apart for best results
  • Maintains black and purple foliage spring through frost

Care: Fertilize with Proven Winners Continuous Release Plant Food in spring and mid-summer. Prefers well-drained soils but is fairly adaptable to other soil types. If desired, prune immediately after the spring bloom.

I was nervous thinking that it would come damaged.

I was nervous thinking that it would come damaged. One stem had been bent badly but definitely looked great. Well packaged and after 2 weeks they are doing great.

I bought a gallon sized plant and was so disappointed when it arrived today. On the left in the photo is a gallon lilac. On the right is this Weigela. This plant is too small for being $33!

I received my plant as a sympathy gift for the death of my sister. The plant never took off. I tried putting in another planter, planting it in the ground...nothing. Never bloomed and really did not grow many leaves. I swear by Home Depot and Lowes. You can buy a plant their and if it does not bloom or it dies in the first 12 months they will replace it.

I received a notice that this plant was delayed in shipment so when It was delivered it was beyond hope. I thought there may be some way to revive it but it was completely out of the container and it was hard to find a root to repot It. But It tried but this is what I ended up with. I shouldn’t have purchased a plant this time of the year. Proven Winners hasn’t let me down, so I will reorder in the spring!

Unfortunately, planting was delayed for weeks, and while I did my best to take care of this potted shrub, it was looking pretty bad by the time I planted it. Not only did it return to full leaf, it’s blooming! Only hardy stock would be able to survive. I highly recommend this shrub.

Plant was received dry and leaves dried also. It completely defoliated. I protected it on the porch and gradually introduced it to its permanent home about a week ago. Have not seen any new growth yet. I have been looking for this plant for quite a while and was so happy to find it. Not so happy now. All the rest of the plants are fine and was very well packed. Wine and roses was shipped separately.
