Little Quick Fire® is a dwarf form of Quick Fire® hydrangea. It is just as early-blooming, but about one third of the size. Its blooms begin white and change to burgundy pink over a short time, giving the late summer garden a true jewel to marvel at. Flowering about a month earlier than other panicles and with the best fall foliage color of any panicle hydrangea, it lengthens the hydrangea season for any garden! This makes it an easy choice for foundation plantings, where its full habit softens the straight lines of a home, and its blooms provide long-lasting dazzling beauty.

  • 3-5 feet tall and wide at maturity
  • Hardy in zones 3-8, be sure to check your USDA zone to ensure success
  • Plant in part sun (4+ hours daily) in southern climates and part to full sun in northern climates
  • Space plants 3-5 feet apart for best results
  • Produces white flowers that age to burgundy-pink throughout summer
  • Maintains green foliage spring to frost
  • Blooms on new wood
  • Great for borders, containers, landscapes, hedges, cut and dried flowers
  • Salt tolerant, fall interest

Care:  Fertilize with Proven Winners Continuous Release Plant Food in spring and mid-summer. Prefers well-drained soil that does not remain soggy for any amount of time. To prune, simply cut back by one-third of its total height every spring, just as new growth begins to emerge on stems. Make cuts just about 1/4 of an inch above a bud. Dead or damaged wood can be removed at any time.

Arrived looking suspect, but was told they're fine. We'll see.

Thank you for sharing your review. Yes, your Hydrangeas will be just fine. What you are seeing on the leaves is old insect damage, it is very common for this time of year. After you trim them in late winter/early spring, the new growth will be beautiful new green leaves.😊

Sincerely,

The hydrangea was a gift for my mom.
I'm disappointed in how it arrived. The leaves were burnt and a couple branches were broke.

Arrived in great condition!

I’ve never ordered a plant that was fully established, so I was a bit worried. But this arrived in perfect condition, had plenty of moisture, no damages at all. I’m very pleased. I repotted it to a larger container and it will stay on the back patio until autumn so I can enjoy it. Then it’ll find a new forever home in my front garden! Thank you for a great purchase!

Little Quick Fire® Panicle Hydrangea (paniculata)

I bought the more expensive gallon containers. Delivery was quick, and the plants were packed well, but the plants were small, and looked like they had been trimmed and cut way back. The plants looked old and had no new stem, or bud or flower growth on them. I was disappointed.

Thank you for sharing. We're sorry to hear this and happy to help! Please respond to this email with a photo of their current condition so we may further assist you. 🙂

Great plant and has done really well in the heat that we have been having. It was the first to bloom of my panicle hydrangeas. Bought one last year as well. This plant is one of my favorites. Received the plant in great shape and ready for planting.

I am very happy with my plants I received. They are all doing well except for my Summerifc French Vanilla hibiscus. The
plant has lost all it leaves. Not sure what to do. Love Proven
Winners plants. Very nice people to talk to or email
Have a great day
Margaret

Margaret,

Thank you for sharing!

We're happy to hear this, your garden is lovely!

The duck peering down at your plants is adorable :)

For your French Vanilla hibiscus, I recommend contacting the retailer you purchased from directly, as we do not carry any of the Summerific hibiscus at Proven Winners Direct. I would recommend ensuring the plants' roots are completely covered with soil in the pot.

Ordered two gallon size hydrangea in spring of 2023. Both arrived in healthy condition and were planted per instructions in 2 half barrels. They each received 4 to six hours (mostly six) of morning sun. They were watered and fertilized as instructed. They grew rapidly but neither flowered …until today, September 6, 2023, I noticed two blooms on one of the plants! Better late than never I guess. Will wait and see how they do next year.

Thank you for sharing!! Enjoy :)

Little Quick Fire® Panicle Hydrangea (paniculata)

The box that the plants arrived in was badly damaged. Inside, the plants were in disarray. In spite of some broken branches, the plants appear to have survived. They all have new growth appearing. I notified the company and they offered to send replacements, but I felt that would not be necessary. I am looking forward to seeing my plants in bloom.

Virginia,

Thank you for sharing and for the update!! Please, reach out to us if you do not see improvements next season! :)

Little Quick Fire® Panicle Hydrangea (paniculata)

I was very disappointed when my plants arrived. There was barely any soil in the pots, most had fallen out and one didn't even contain a plant at all. True enough they do well once planted and grow beautifully but I am having second thoughts regarding ordering from Proven Winners again, sorry to say. Btw the Little Quick Fire was in good shape!!

Lacy,

My little quick fire's came packaged very well. No problems with dirt spilling out of containers or damaged plants. They came dormant with many buds developing.

Carey,

Thank you for sharing your experience with us!! We're so happy that your plants have arrived at their new home. :)

Enjoy!!
