2026 Landscape Shrub of the Year!

Limelight Prime® Hydrangea is an improved, more refined ‘Limelight’, with darker leaves, stronger stems, a more compact habit, and upright growth. It makes a great container plant. The blooms emerge a vivid lime-green and maintain that color until they transition into a bubblegum pink and then a deep punch pink. It also makes an excellent cut flower, fresh or dried. It is drought tolerant and blooms every year, even in cold climates.

  • 4-6 feet tall and 4-5 feet wide at maturity
  • Hardy in zones 3-8, be sure to check your USDA zone to ensure success
  • Plant in part sun (4+ hours daily) in southern climates and part to full sun in northern climates
  • Space plants 4-5 feet apart for best results
  • Produces green flowers throughout summer transitioning to fruit punch pink in fall
  • Maintains green foliage spring to frost
  • Blooms on new wood
  • Great for border, container, cut flower, dried flower, screening, landscape, mass planting, specimen or focal point
  • Salt tolerant, fall interest

Care:  Fertilize with Proven Winners Continuous Release Plant Food in spring and mid-summer. Prefers well-drained soil that does not remain soggy for any amount of time. To prune, simply cut back by one-third of its total height every spring, just as new growth begins to emerge on stems. Make cuts just about 1/4 of an inch above a bud. Dead or damaged wood can be removed at any time.

I purchased 10 of these last year in the 1 gallon size early 2025. This year they started blooming and the flower heads are huge!

Replacement had broken branches. I cut the cover around plant off so no damage would come to plant what so ever. Young plants need extra care because branches are not as strong. These are young plants and easy to damage. It is unfortunate the shipping process cannot be better.

Great Customer Service

I received my initial order of hydrangeas and rose of Sharon on time. However, three out of eight hydrangeas were not in the best condition. Proven Winners immediately replaced them within a week. I planted them right away, and they are all looking good so far. I can't wait to see them in their full glory next summer. Thank you for excellent customer service, Proven Winners.

Thank you so much for your kind words! We're delighted to hear your hydrangeas are thriving and you're happy with our service.😊🌺

Beautiful Plants

My hydrangeas arrived on time and well packed. However, the shipping company had destroyed the box and broken some of the limbs. This was not the fault of Proven Winners and I mention it only because they might need to address this with future orders.

I planted them right away and they are looking very healthy and robust even with all the heat we are currently having. I'm very pleased with the plants. Thank you Proven Winners.

Ordered 19 to plant as a hedge. Since it was a very hot summer I kept them in part shade in a mini nursery as I often do with plants like this. 9 of the 19 died, even though they were all treated the same and kept under the same conditions. As a result I'm out 9 plants AND have now had to delay planting my hedge until I have the correct number.

I've repotted the plants in larger containers & am waiting for cooler weather to plant in the garden. South central Louisiana has brutal heat & humidity, even the morning sun can do damage. Hopefully it'll be a successful endeavor.

Thank you for your review! 😊

I have ordered a lot of flowers from y’all. All have been great but 3 hydrangeas. They looked a little stressed when I got them and a combination of that and a heat wave that came through after I planted them may have killed them. All the leaves are wilted. I have been watering well in hopes that they bounce back. I know a lot of it has to do with being late to planting them. Overall, I’m really excited with all the flowers I order.

I received my 4 plants very quickly. 2 of the 4 were very wilted. I watered and fed them. Popped them in the ground the next day hoping for a rebound. I emailed Jenny with pictures. She said that the 2 were going to be replaced because of their condition. I haven’t gotten them yet. Looking forward to them.

Nancy,

Thank you for sharing!! We are happy to see your replacement order arrived yesterday, 7/23. 😊

Limelight and was put in the ground promptly Saturday morning with good soil fertilizer and lots of water and by the next day it looked like it was dying and the second day it was apparent that it was dying. I bought this as a gift and sent it to someone and I am so embarrassed but they would think I would send them such a shoddy plant I hope that you'll make this good. The plant got another 2 in of rain yesterday and still looks the same this morning, very sad to say not very happy

I ordered 5 of the quart size and they arrived very nicely packaged. Everything was intact and was shipped quickly. I was surprised that they were multi-branched as many small sizes from other companies are just a barely rooted cuttings. As they are dormant, I can't tell how they will do, but I'm pleased so far.

Judy,

Thank you for sharing!!

We're happy to hear you are pleased with your new shrubs!

Feel free to send us updated photos of your shrubs in the spring, when in bloom.

We love to see our customers plants thriving :)
