Invincibelle® Ruby has dark burgundy red flower buds that open to a two-toned combination of bright ruby red and silvery pink all summer. The foliage is extra dark, and stems are strong, making this hydrangea a gem in any garden. Like other smooth hydrangeas, it flowers on new growth and so blooms every year without fail. It is native to North America and does not require deadheading for continued bloom.

  • 3-4 feet tall and 2-3 feet wide at maturity
  • Hardy in zones 3-8, be sure to check your USDA zone to ensure success
  • Plant in part to full sun (4+ hours daily)
  • Space plants 2-3 feet apart for best results
  • Produces two-toned ruby red and silvery pink flowers summer to fall
  • Maintains green foliage spring to frost
  • Blooms on new wood
  • Great for borders, landscapes, mass planting, as a focal point, cut and dried flowers
  • Native to North America, salt tolerant, reblooming, deadheading not necessary

Care:  Fertilize with Proven Winners Continuous Release Plant Food in spring and mid-summer. Prefers well-drained soil that does not remain soggy for any amount of time. To prune, simply cut back by one-third of its total height every spring, just as new growth begins to emerge on stems. Make cuts just about 1/4 of an inch above a bud. Dead or damaged wood can be removed at any time.

Invincibelle® Ruby Smooth Hydrangea (arborescens)

I have been ordering various plants from P.W. and have had faith in the quality. However, the roses and hydrangeas delivered today are not in good condition overall. Some have not yet grown roots, and some have not even sprouted leaves since they were cut. I thought they would not adapt and would die if I planted them directly in the ground, so I planted them in a large pot and placed them in the shade. I ordered them imagining a bountiful garden, so I hope the flowers will grow well without dying.

Invincibelle® Ruby Smooth Hydrangea (arborescens)

The hydrangeas arrived in disarray with the plants tipped over and the box delivered on its side. However, the dirt mostly stayed in the pots due to the packing. The tops of the plants were somewhat mangled but they were watered immediately and planted the next day. They have recovered well and there is no permanent damage. They look healthy and are growing well - definitely good quality plants.

They had many broken limbs & leaves. I reached out to Proven Winners 3 days ago so far work no response back. I spent too much money with this company to experience this lack of care from them!! I've been patiently waiting for a response back with a resolution but my patience is not eternal.

Very pleased. PVD always packages the plants tightly secured in the box. I get my deliveries within a day or two because I live in Monroe, just south of the Four Star Nursery. However sometimes I have to have my neighbors put them in garage. Thus, the case for these. Even after two extra days in the box the soil was still damp and the blooms very hydrated. I purchased two, they are now in the ground and look gorgeous.
