Double Play Doozie® has foliage that emerges in blazing, deep red and lime green in early spring before it matures to dark green through the season. Late spring brings bright, glowing red-pink flowers, and it blooms all summer. It is non-invasive, meaning it sets no seed and won't spread. All the energy it would spend developing seed goes into blooming instead, so it reblooms through fall. It does it all with the same good looks, drought tolerance, and deer resistance that you expect from spirea, too.

2-3 feet tall and wide at maturity
Hardy in zones 3-8, be sure to check your USDA zone to ensure success
Plant in part to full sun (4+ hours daily)
Space plants 2-3 feet apart for best results

Very disappointed - Issue with powdery mildew

Bought three Double Play Doozie® Spirea (Spiraea) from Proven Winners Direct in April 2024. All three plants had powdery mildew with in first month of planting. I have treated it for this issue since then. I have decided this plant is too much work and I have removed all three plants from my garden this spring. Very Disappointed...

I really like Double Play Doozie. Does well in our hot summers without supplemental watering (decent soil), but did not survive in dry heavy ground with partial shade.

Such pretty shrubs! I love spireas and the fact that these continually flower makes them even more special. All arrived neatly packed with no broken branches. Can’t wait to get them in the ground. Good job Proven Winners!
