Little Lime® Panicle Hydrangea packs a visual punch in the garden. In summer, lime green blooms open on strong stems. As it ages, rich pink coloring emerges to prolong the show through fall. It is small enough to grow in containers and also stands out as a bold mass planting. Its bright bloom coloration makes it an excellent choice for cut flower gardens and can be used fresh or dried.

  • 3-5 feet tall and wide at maturity
  • Hardy in zones 3-8, be sure to check your USDA zone to ensure success
  • Plant in part sun (4+ hours daily) in southern climates and part to full sun in northern climates
  • Space plants 3-5 feet apart for best results
  • Produces green flowers throughout summer turning pink in fall
  • Maintains green foliage spring to frost
  • Blooms on new wood
  • Great for borders, containers, edging, landscapes, cut and dried flowers
  • Salt tolerant, fall interest

Our deciduous shrubs are entering their natural dormancy phase. As part of this process, foliage is turning colors, drying out, and falling off—this is completely normal! Shedding leaves helps the plants conserve energy and prepare for the next growing season. Rest assured, your shrubs will wake up and thrive again when it's time in your growing zone. Dormancy is how they prepare for a healthy, vibrant comeback as the seasons change!

Care:  Fertilize with Proven Winners Continuous Release Plant Food in spring and mid-summer. Prefers well-drained soil that does not remain soggy for any amount of time. To prune, simply cut back by one-third of its total height every spring, just as new growth begins to emerge on stems. Make cuts just about 1/4 of an inch above a bud. Dead or damaged wood can be removed at any time.

This Quart plant was about 2" tall. I found a gallon size at local nursery with long branches and 3 flowers for only double the price. Not at all pleased.

I ordered 2 Little Lime hydrangeas online for the first time this past spring, only to receive them a month later as scheduled. I have to admit, I was sceptical about online ordering these plants, but to my utmos surprise, the plants were so well packaged that they survived a week of heat waves and travel from BC to QC. My plants have grown and are still blooming into pink hues as we go into the fall season. Would not hesitate to do this again next season.

I have ordered plants/flowers from various other online places over the years and have always been underwhelmed when they arrived or how they grew. I received my order today from Proven Winners Direct and WOW, I was impressed the moment I opened the box! A beautiful Little Lime Hydrangea greeted me! Much larger than I expected, multiple beautiful blooms already on it! It is a happy, healthy plant. I was ridiculously excited about this ( more than any one person should be) and I immediately read the directions and got to work digging the hole and planting the Hydrangea. I can’t wait to see how it does in the next few weeks, months and years! 100% have my future business!!

This is the third season planted in my garden. It is pretty, but this year it started to have a little extra poof on the top of the blooms which look like the new puffer fish bloom structure. Is this normal? The poof is white, while the blooms green. It's looking weird .

Hi Betsy,

Thank you for reaching out! The bloom does look like a Puffer Fish bloom with the white sprig of flowers at the end. I did not see any purchases from you that contained Little Lime® Hydrangea. Are you referring to the Limelight Prime® Panicle Hydrangeas that you purchased or did you purchase this from somewhere other than Proven Winners Direct? We look forward to hearing back from you!

Sincerely,
PWD Team

I was very happy with three out of the four shrubs I received. One is just very small and not full at all, certainly not one I would have picked out. The other three were beautiful. They were packaged with care and arrived in good condition.
