Let Yuki Kabuki® deutzia help you with your spring task list. That is, let it help lighten your load. It doesn’t need a prune at all, as it naturally maintains a tight rounded habit and blooms on old wood. Just enjoy the mass of tiny pink and white blooms in the spring and a tide of bright fall color when the weather starts to cool. With a low habit, it fits in nicely amongst perennials and other shrubs in a mixed border. With its low maintenance nature, you could easily use it in a container display or plant multiple in a low hedge. 

  • 2.5-4 feet tall and 2.5-4 feet wide at maturity
  • Hardy in zones 5-8, be sure to check your USDA zone to ensure success
  • Plant in full to part sun (4-6+ hours daily)
  • Space plants 2.5-4 feet apart for best results
  • Produces masses of pink and white flowers throughout spring
  • Maintains tidy, medium green, foliage in spring and summer that shifts to burgundy red in the fall

This Deutzia plant received mixed feedback. Customers said it arrives in great condition with beautiful blooms and healthy plants that thrive when repotted. However, some experienced heat sensitivity, with leaves browning and curling in hot weather. Shipping damage was also reported.

Two attempts with sad outcomes

This was my second try with the same sad results. Looked gorgeous when it arrived, but despite careful planting, watering and pm shade the leaves turned brown at the tips, curled up, and fell in this summer's heat - despite the fit with our climate zone. The first died within 3 weeks. I've repotted the replacement in a larger container and am keeping it indoors until the unnaturally hot weather cools, but leaf tips are still turning brown and curling. Not hardy and definitely not drought or heat tolerant.

Boxes arrived damaged. Only 4 plants survived out of 2 shipments. They have not been replaced nor have I been given a refund

Yuki Kabuki™ Deutzia

I ordered these in the heat of the summer when our heat index here has been up to 105 degrees. I ordered 5 of the quart sized p new Yukis, as well several other plants. They are all very healthy. I repotted them in larger pots, so they can get a little bigger, as I will not be having my landscaping/flower beds done until Spring. I have since placed another order with Proven Winners and they were received in good shape as well. Can't wait until Spring to see them blooming!
