Sunsatia Blood Orange displays fiery red-orange flowers all season. Sunsatia do not like to have wet feet so be sure to plant them in places with good drainage. For most people, planting them in containers will be easier unless you have excellent drainage in your ground or raised beds.

  • 10-14 inches tall and 12-16 inches wide at maturity
  • Annual except in zones 10-11, be sure to check your USDA zone to ensure success
  • Plant in part to full sun (4+ hours daily)
  • Space plants 8-12 inches apart for best results
  • Produces orange flowers spring through hard frost
  • Maintains green foliage spring through frost
  • Great for containers
  • Long blooming, continuous bloomer, fall interest, deadheading not necessary

Care: Fertilize weekly with Proven Winners Water Soluble Plant Food for best performance. Nemesia shouldn't need pruning, but trim to shape if desired. Plants may flush out of flower if night temperatures begin to stay in the upper 70s or above. If this happens, a light trim to shape them would be beneficial. The trim will increase branching and will result in more flowers once the temperatures fall.

Nemesia offers "nonstop blooms" and "super bright cheerful color" that thrives in summer heat. Customers praised the vibrant blooms and container-friendly growth. However, many reported plants arriving damaged, wilted, or much smaller than expected, with some not surviving despite proper care. Color accuracy was also questioned.

Not usually a fan of orange, but this nemesia won me over! Nonstop blooms, super bright and cheerful color—even in the summer heat. I ended up growing it in a container (since its watering needs were different from my other border plants), and it’s been thriving with slightly less water than my other pots. A happy surprise!

Also, it is worth noting that they did not arrive in the best condition and I left them outside (with daily water) in the small container as I was undecided about these. Once I planted and starting feeding with fertilizer, it was such a surprise how they turned out.

The plants were tiny and wrong color from what I ordered

The plants were tiny - really tiny, and not orange (pink, white, orange). As they’ve grown still multi color. For what I paid (including shipping) for orange, I’d like to find out how to get a credit. However they were packed nice

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. Please send us an email at HelpDesk@ProvenWinnersDirect.com with photos of the plants and we would be happy to help!

Only 1 out of three made it

I opened my package the day I got it and planted the Sunsatias the next day. So far only one is still alive. This has happened before with items I get from Proven Winners. I have received other mail order plants from other vendors and had no problem. Maybe it’s a result of the compostable pots and how breaking them apart dislodges a good portion of the root soil? I admire the Proven Winners’ many selections and especially enjoy the Supertunias and Superbells. PW plants I get at Homedepot, etc. All seem to do well. But shipped items, not so much.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review for our Sunsatia Blood Orange Nemesia. We're sorry to hear that only one out of three plants made it through. We understand how frustrating it can be when plants don't thrive as expected.

We would love to help you with this issue. Please send us an email at HelpDesk@ProvenWinnersDirect.com with photos of the plants and we'll do our best to make things right for you!

I gave three stars on this plant specifically because all four of them look really bad. I’m hoping they’ll recover, but there was no problem with shipping and so I didn’t figure I could get them replaced, but the other reason is three stars for my entire order because when you order multiple combos, you have a picture in your mind of how you’re gonna plant them based on the picture you provide of the combo but then you don’t bundle them together anyway or give any paperwork that says these are the combo you ordered and these are the combo you ordered

Sunsatia® Blood Orange™ Nemesia (Nemesia hybrid)

Last week, I received 4 Nemesia Sunsatia Blood Orange from another seller, all 4 arrived deader than a doornail, even after just a 3 day shipping. The 4 Proven Winner plants I received today were not only healthy, they were 3 times the overall size of this plant that I've gotten use to seeing elsewhere. I'll be back Proven Winners! AAA+++
Cheers,
Robin

Thank you for sharing!! Enjoy :)

They cam wilted and proceeded to die even though in the correct environment and watering. Sad. I really wanted to see these in full bloom.

Thank you for sharing. We're sorry to hear this and are happy to help! Please respond to this email with photos of your plant's current conditions and we can further assist you!

Both plants were damaged. Crushed stems. I nursed the one back to health...it just now has 2 little blossoms and the other died.
