Rockapulco® Coral Reef features stunning coral-pink flowers that resemble delicate rosebuds, adding a burst of color to any garden. Known for its ability to thrive in the hottest, most humid deep shade, this hardy annual is perfect for areas where other plants might struggle. Whether planted alone or in combinations, Rockapulco® Coral Reef performs beautifully in all types of containers and landscapes. Its vibrant blooms and ability to flourish in challenging conditions make it an excellent choice for adding long-lasting color to shaded spaces with minimal care. 

  • 10-20 inches tall and 12-24 inches wide at maturity
  • Annual except in zones 10-11, be sure to check your USDA zone to ensure success
  • Plant in part to full shade (4 or less hours daily)
  • Space plants 10-12 inches apart for best results
  • Produces salmon or coral flowers spring through frost
  • Maintains green foliage spring through frost
  • Great for containers, edging, landscape, mass plantings
  • Continuous bloomer, long blooming, disease resistant, deadheading not necessary

Care: Fertilize weekly with Proven Winners Water Soluble Plant Food for best performance. They shouldn't need to be cut back, but you can trim to shape if desired. Don't let them dry out.

I love the look of these, like mini roses. The only caveat is they are very delicate and fall apart when the bloom is spent and make a mess when trying to remove the spent bloom. Also, beware - the deer love them! i had an entire plant eaten down to the stems. I had to move it to my fenced in backyard (which is full afternoon sun and did well! ) to recover, which it did after some time. Also, i am in zone 7a and i found that they do need some sun or the buds never grow or open and just fall off.

Planted the Rockapulco double impatients in a hanging basket on my front porch. The flowers were enormous and bloomed continuously. I thought I lost them after a windstorm thrashed them and dried them out but they bounced backed beautifully.

I didn’t think it was possible to ship tender plants like impatiens through any standard shipping company….and across multiple parts of the country.
But PW has figured it out. They came bursting with blooms, in better condition than if I had picked them out at my best nursery….
Planted them the next day and they are thriving now a couple weeks later. PW has engineered a pot that makes them simple to remove from their shipping containers with almost zero loss of roots, dirt, etc

I purchased Rockapulco Coral Reef last year and they bloomed all summer and part of the fall, filling in the pot beautifully, and I loved them so much, I got more this year. The color is a deep pink and works great with Sweet Caroline Tri Color vine and Diamond Snow Euphorbia.

Several of my plants had very dry soil. Two of my coral bells had been smashed like something had been dropped on top of them. Many of the leaves were broken off and laying on the pot within the plastic bag.This must have happened during packing because the box was in good shape.

I knew they would be small but they are really small. I’ll be in a retirement home by the time they can be enjoyed. The Impatience and the two twice blooming lilacs are ok. My biggest problem is SE Michigan continues to be too cold. Like in the low 40’s during the day and low 30’s at night. We continue to have rain changing to snow flurries. I’m optimistic I will be able to plant all this weekend. I trust the quality in every Proven
Winners plant.

Sadly the flowers and leaves were wilted and looked like they took a good hit during shipping or packing. The plant looked a bit wilted and the soil was very dry. I might not buy annuals online. The shrubs came fine as there was no flower on them yet.

Thank you for sharing! Please be assured that Proven Winners plants are very healthy and vigorous when they leave our greenhouse. The vast majority of plants recover quickly once they are unpacked and planted, their unhealthy leaves are removed, and they are lightly pruned as needed. If you notice the plant is not showing signs of improvement within a couple of weeks, please do reach back out to us with a few updated photos.
