Customers appreciate these reblooming shrubs that attract hummingbirds. Most plants "arrived healthy" and in "great condition" with fast shipping. However, some received dried or damaged plants, and survival rates varied. Several noted deer resistance claims were inaccurate. Growth is strong when conditions are right, though blooming timelines vary.

I shared photos of how my plants arrived dried with withered leaves. I have tried to revive them but to no avail.

The Weigela plants I ordered appeared to arrive in good condition. The weather at my home was too hot to plant them in the ground, so I up potted them and placed them in indirect sunlight. I did the same thing with the Incrediball Storm Proof Panicle Hydrangea that I purchased. The Weigela struggled, while the Incrediball thrived under the same care and conditions. One Weigela died and the other is dying. I am disappointed in the Weigela.

Thank you for sharing your reviews of your plants. We would be happy to replace the Sonic Bloom® Red Reblooming Weigelas if you are interested! Additionally, we highly recommend planting your plants as soon as you receive them, even if it is hot. Here are some hot weather planting tips:

Your plants have already been acclimated to the outdoors and will be happiest in the ground as soon as possible. There is no need to wait to get your hands dirty!

Plant early in the mornings or late in the evenings when the air tends to be cooler and the sun less intense. Try to avoid the midday sun, which is the hottest and highest in the sky.

Water, water, water! Water before you plant, soaking the soil in the pot. Water during planting by filling the hole with water a time or two prior to putting the plant in the ground. The goal is to get the soil around the plant’s roots and beyond super hydrated. Then, loosen the soil around the plant, put the plant into the hole as standard, and water it well one last time. Be sure to deeply water daily and consistently for the first week (sometimes longer- your plants will tell you!) to make sure the heat of the summer does not deter it from establishing its healthy, glorious roots. When watering, be sure to water the base of the plant. That will help keep the leaves dry and prevent fungal infections. Also, water in the morning so the leaves can dry out during the day and before the temperature drops at night.

Hope this helps! Let us know if you have any further questions!

Sincerely,
PWD Team

The plants arrived fast and in good condition

The plants arrived fast and were in very good condition. Four days after planting, the deer have already begun munching on them. They are supposed to be deer resistant.

Deers will eat just about anything if they are hungry enough!

First let me say I live in NC in zone 8b. I ordered 3 of these shrubs: 2 were in good shape but the 3rd was much smaller and had one pretty big broken branch that fell completely off while being unpacked. I'd been looking forward to receiving these plants. They've all been planted in my yard now; getting lots of sun and TLC. Hopefully they'll take root well and get off to a good start before winter sets in here. Hope the runt catches up to the other two. Thanks Proven Winners Direct!

I hope it will survive the drought we are having. I'm watering it every day.. but not too much.. It doesn't look like it's changed any.. I will take a picture and then take another in a couple weeks and see if it changes..

Just to new to rate. A healthy plant came. However, it is just too early to judge how it blooms. No buds at this point.

I'm in zone 8b north Florida coastal county. Slightly acidic, sandy soil. I ordered two towards the end of the summer. They bloomed before dying back at the end of the year, and look healthy now in May the next year. Not very big yet, and no blooms yet this year, but no reason not to expect them later.

Pleasantly surprised with the ordering process and the condition of plant on arrival! Has difficulty locating this variety of weigela so I reached out to Proven Winners and found what I wanted. Our retiring garden club president will love this plant.

Unlike other beloved gardeners that many of us know, I LOVE red in the garden. This is my first weigela and based on reading about its care, it seems fairly easy to grow. For now I have potted it up; it's rated two zones lower than my growing zone, so it will overwinter safely in its pot. It's already trying to bloom! I used good quality potting soil; Bio-tone; and PW granular fertilizer (the best of the best!) One can't go wrong! 👩‍💚 =^..^= (naturegirl7777-IG)

I was surprised at the fast shipment.
We are far from ready to plant.
It was 20 below last week.
I am looking for ward to spring!
The plants are in a warm garage.
Do I need to water them in the next month or so?
