Flirty Girl® False Hydrangea-Vine displays an abundance of lightly fragrant, creamy blooms that look like polka dots against the foliage all summer. New foliage on this quick-growing plant emerges purple then ages to a crisp green. This climbing/trailing shrub looks amazing climbing an arbor, trellis, fence, or any structure in part shade.

  • 40-50 feet tall and 6-9 feet wide at maturity
  • Hardy in zones 5-9, be sure to check your USDA zone to ensure success
  • Plant in part sun (4-6 hours daily)
  • Space plants 6-9 feet apart for best results
  • Maintains climbing foliage that emerges purple before maturing to green from spring to frost
  • Produces fragrant, white flowers summer to fall
  • Blooms on old wood
  • Attracts bees and butterflies
  • Great for landscapes, screening, or as a focal point
  • Heat tolerant, clay tolerant

Care: Fertilize with Proven Winners Continuous Release Plant Food in spring and mid summer.  Pruning is not necessary or recommended. Flower buds are formed on old wood, so any cuts will remove flowering potential. Dead or damaged wood can be removed at any time, just cut back to a set of leaves.

I got my hydrangea yesterday. It was in a terrible shape. Many leaves were eaten by bugs, no flowers, no buds and almost no leaves were good. Very disappointed.

It’s a little difficult to review right now as the plants were damaged en route to me. I planted them anyway and I’ll just have to wait to see if they recover and grow. I’m waiting to hear back from you. But in my mind’s eye they’ll look awesome, just disappointed that they are damaged

Got the plant quickly but very disappointed. Many of the leaves were eatten by bugs. Almost no leaves were spared. No flowers and no flower buds. Hopefully it will survive. This is my first time ordering from Proven Winners Direct. Very shocked at their quality control. How can they ship a plant like that! If I see this at a garden center, I wouldn’t have bought it.

Plant was healthy with lots of leaves but should have been shipped dormant for my area as was indicated when I ordered Planted right away but unfortunately we had a surprise very late season freeze while it was recovering from the transplant shock. Doubt it will make it.

The vine arrived two weeks ago in secure packaging in excellent shape. We've planted it in an area that needs some color and interest (white vinyl fence) and built a trellis for it to climb. We have great hopes for this plant!
