Add a touch of drama to your garden with Sweet Caroline Red Hawk™! This stunning ornamental plant features rich red-brown foliage that maintains its vibrant color all season long. Known for its heat tolerance, it thrives in warm conditions without the need for deadheading, making it a low-maintenance choice for your landscape. Perfect as a ground cover, Sweet Caroline Red Hawk creates a lush carpet of color, but be mindful—its vigorous growth can sometimes overshadow less robust plants in your combinations. While it adds beauty to your garden, please note that this ipomoea is purely ornamental and not intended for consumption.

  • 6-16 inches tall and 20-36 inches wide at maturity
  • Annual except in zones 10-11
  • Plant in part to full sun (4+ hours daily)
  • Space plants 12-18 inches apart for best results
  • Maintains burgundy bronze foliage spring through frost
  • Great for borders, containers, groundcover, landscapes, and mass planting
  • Heat tolerant, deadheading not necessary

The Eco+Grande features nutrients embedded in the container walls, which help plants grow bigger and faster throughout the season when planted in the ground. Be sure to remove the tabs from the container before planting. If you choose to plant in a container, we recommend taking the plant out of the Eco+Grande, breaking it apart, and mixing it into the soil at the time of planting. When the Proven Winners Eco+Grande container is discarded in the garbage can, it will naturally break down faster in a landfill than a traditional petroleum made container. The container will get smaller and smaller until microbes consume it, turning it back into an inert organic product. Learn more about this in our blog

Care: Fertilize weekly with Proven Winners Water Soluble Plant Food for best performance. Prune to shape as desired throughout the season.
