Surefire Red begonia has red blooms all season. It is quite vigorous and can tolerate some drought conditions, but will look its best with more consistent moisture and regular feeding.

  • 12-24 inches tall and 12-18 inches wide at maturity
  • Annual except in zones 10-11, be sure to check your USDA zone to ensure success
  • Plant in sun or shade
  • Space plants 12-18 inches apart for best results
  • Produces rich red flowers from planting to frost
  • Maintains glossy green foliage spring through frost
  • Great for borders, containers, landscapes, mass plantings
  • Heat tolerant, long blooming, deadheading not necessary, foliage interest

Thank you for sharing your review of your Surefire® Red Begonias. Our 'Ships Now' Annuals are all grown fresh and ready for planting. This means they may be slightly smaller in growth in comparison to products at a garden center that may have been sitting on a shelf longer, but they are fresh, healthy, and full of color. If they are any smaller now, they certainly won't be for long once they are happily planted!

However, if you are still unhappy, we would be happy to replace them or give you store credit.

Plants arrived brittle and dry. I would have skipped over buying the plants at a nursery if i saw them in person.

Surefire® Red Begonia (benariensis)

My go to for shade or sun areas. Grows faster in sun but still a great plant for shaded window boxes. My plants were a little rough after shipment but are bouncing back nicely. Water them and let them sit over night to reconstitute the dry woody mulch then plant.

They are healthy. But they are tiny. When I see Laura from Garden Answers unpack her plants from y’all, they are huge! And I suspect free. If we pay for them, why skimp!!!!!

Begonias were pretty beat up and very dry soil. Lost a few leaves and stems. Planted and fed them water solvable PW. Hoping they recover. fertilizer

Surefire is the richest red I've ever seen, they are stating to really take off and grow. I ordered 4 plants and wish I had ordered 8. These out do any I've ever seen.
