Superbells® Cherry Red displays small cherry-red flowers all season. Abundant, small petunia-like flowers bloom from planting until the first frost. It is heat tolerant, does not require deadheading, and attracts hummingbirds.

  • 6-12 inches tall and spread up to 24 inches at maturity
  • Annual except in zones 9-11
  • Plant in part to full sun (4+ hours daily)
  • Space plants 8-12 inches apart for best results
  • Produces red flowers from planting to frost
  • Maintains green foliage planting to frost
  • Great for containers
  • Attracts hummingbirds
  • Heat and drought tolerant, long blooming, fall interest, deadheading not necessary

The Eco+Grande features nutrients embedded in the container walls, which help plants grow bigger and faster throughout the season when planted in the ground. Be sure to remove the tabs from the container before planting. If you choose to plant in a container, we recommend taking the plant out of the Eco+Grande, breaking it apart, and mixing it into the soil at the time of planting. When the Proven Winners Eco+Grande container is discarded in the garbage can, it will naturally break down faster in a landfill than a traditional petroleum made container. The container will get smaller and smaller until microbes consume it, turning it back into an inert organic product. Learn more about this in our blog.

Care: Fertilize weekly with Proven Winners Water Soluble Plant Food for best performance. Pruning is not necessary but will help increase branching and may help your plants look even fuller.

Calibrachoa do not like to have constantly damp soil because it can lead to root rot diseases. They will do well in the ground or raised beds with good drainage. For most gardeners containers are the best use for Calibrachoa, let the top few inches of soil dry before watering again.

ZONE 9A 9formally 8B) Superbells® Cherry Red (Calibrachoa). I wrote a review in June 2023 but decided to add more. To my surprise, some of the Superbells I planted last year have returned this year! It's a delightful bonus to have these vibrant blooms back in my garden.
