Make a striking impact with Summer Wine® Black ninebark, the shrub with the darkest, most dramatic foliage you can find. Its deep, rich color provides a sophisticated contrast to any landscape, making it an ideal choice for accentuating your home’s exterior. In spring, delicate white flower clusters bloom, beautifully contrasting with the nearly-black leaves. The upright stems and small, finely textured foliage create a captivating visual effect, making Summer Wine Black the perfect addition to elevate your garden’s design.

  • 5-6 feet tall and wide at maturity
  • Hardy in zones 3-7, be sure to check your USDA zone to ensure success

The plant seems dead. It doesn't have any leaves and the stems are woody. I left it like that for a long time, hoping something would come back, but till now nothing

They arrived on time but were already a little dry and are very small. I got them in the ground and seem to be doing okay, but I was a little disappointed in them. I have ordered a lot of flowers this summer and was a little disappointed with a couple but they are alive and I think will be okay.

This 2" ht. nine bark is so tiny and delicate. Not sure it will survive. Too small. Not satisfied.

Good packaging and shipping. Bushes seem quite healthy. I think they will do well. My only area of dissatisfaction is how small they are for the price. They are not bareroot twigs, but certainly not the size of garden center shrubs.

I live in zone 5b near Denver. I planted this last May in heavy, wet clay soil (runoff from lawn) that has killed other plants. It didn’t do much its first summer, but this year it has tripled in size and is the most stunning burgundy color, especially when the light filters through the leaves. I’m ready to find spots for two more :)
