Spring Grove® displays dark green, glossy evergreen foliage even in Midwest winters. The tight pyramidal habit works nicely in landscape designs. Its hardiness and deer resistance makes it a good choice for many suburban locations, especially for creating fast-growing privacy screens.

  • 25-30 feet tall and 12-15 feet wide at maturity
  • Hardy in zones 5-8, be sure to check your USDA zone to ensure success
  • Plant in part to full sun (4+ hours daily)
  • Space plants 12-15 feet apart for best results
  • Maintains dark green foliage year-round

Care: Fertilize with Proven Winners Continuous Release Plant Food in spring and mid summer.  Does not strictly require pruning, though it does tolerate it well. Prune in spring before new growth begins.

Spring Grove arborvitae

I'm reserving judgement on Spring Grove arborvitae. This is my second planting. I don't think my first one is going to survive. I'm trying to save it, but I'm not optimistic about it. We'll see.

I did not know Proven Winners has a direct order online store! I was able to get the trees I wanted, which are not carried by local stores. The trees arrived two days after I placed the order!
