Mojave Yellow has vivid yellow flowers all season and succulent-like foliage. It is heat, drought, and salt-tolerant, attracts pollinators, and does not require deadheading. Use in pots, window boxes, baskets, and as a ground cover. The flowers of Portulaca will close at night and reopen the next day.
  • 4-8 inches tall and 12-16 inches wide at maturity
  • Annual except in zones 10-11, be sure to check your USDA zone to ensure success
  • Plant in full sun (6+ hours daily)
  • Space plants 8-10 inches apart for best results
  • Produces golden-yellow flowers from planting to frost
  • Maintains green foliage spring to frost
  • Great for containers, edging, groundcover, landscapes

  • Heat tolerant, drought tolerant, salt tolerant, long blooming, low maintenance, succulent, deadheading not necessary

Care: Fertilize weekly with Proven Winners Water Soluble Plant Food for best performance. The flowers of Portulaca will close at night and reopen the next day. They will tolerate dry soils, although they will perform optimally with average moisture. These are tough plants that will tolerate poor soils and do not need a lot of fertilizer to perform well. Deadheading is not needed.

I was extremely excited to order those Mojave Yellow Purslane (Portulacas) because they supposedly can take full-sum and a few locations of my gardens are full-sun.
They started dying right away after transplanting. After a week or so, I moved them to a more shared area… A week later, unfortunately, they were completely dead.
I don't understand.
Full shade - They died

Full Sun - They definitely died
I am extremely disappointed.

great color, hard to find yellow portulaca, put them in hanging baskets, and the magenta one I put near the hummingbird feeders since they notice the color more than other colors
