Amagris is a prayer plant, the common name for plants that tend to fold their foliage up as night falls. Prayer plants include plants in the following genera: Calathea, Maranta, Stromanthe, and Ctenanthe. The foliage is oblong, and light green in color with dark green veins. The underside of the leaves is purple. Other common names include 'Fishbone Prayer Plant.
