Radiance is a fancy-leaf variety with a bright intense rose pink center transitioning to light pink and white with pink spots and a green margin. Due to its stature, it makes an excellent border to intermediate plant in the landscape and a thriller in containers. Caladiums are also generally considered to be houseplants where they prefer bright light or a sunny window.
Care: Indoors: These are tropical plants that thrive in high humdity and warm temperatures above 65 degrees F. Requires bright light or a sunny window, but not direct, as direct sun can scorch the tender leaves. Even indoors, caladiums will enter dormancy after a few months in leaf. When their leaves start to die back, stop watering. Allow the plant to rest and resume watering once new growth starts. Outdoors: Be sure not to plant too early, temperatures below 50 degrees F will stunt or harm these tropical plants. These are not "hungry" and will require less fertilizer than other annuals to succeed, too much fertilizer can actually damage the foliage. Apply at 1/4 strength what would normally be applied in your garden weekly or every other week. Keep soil moist but well-draining, ensuring that they do not entirely dry out. For gardeners in northern climates these perform best in containers if grown outside.
