Brandywine™ viburnum (Viburnum nudum) is a true garden treasure, delivering one of the most dazzling berry displays you’ll ever see. In spring, foamy white flowers sparkle against glossy green foliage. By late summer, clusters of berries begin their color-changing show—ivory to vivid pink to rich blue, often all at once for a jewel-like effect. As if that weren’t enough, the foliage blazes red in fall, making the berries shine even brighter. A compact, landscape-friendly form of our native viburnum, Brandywine™ stays a manageable 5–6′ tall and wide, with abundant blooms and berries—and no pollinator needed. Elegant, easy, and unforgettable.

  • 5-6 feet tall and wide at maturity
  • Hardy in zones 5-9, be sure to check your USDA zone to ensure success
  • Plant in part to full sun (4+ hours daily)
  • Space plants 5-6 feet apart for best results
  • Produces white flowers during late spring
  • Maintains green foliage throughout spring and summer before becoming vivid red in fall
  • Blooms on old wood
  • Great for borders, containers, cut flowers, edges, foundation plantings, focal points, hedges, wildlife gardens
  • Attracts bees, butterflies and resists deer, rabbits
  • Fall interest, native to North America, heat tolerant, foliage interest
  • Shrubs shipped Nov-Apr will arrive dormant; shrubs shipped Apr-Oct will arrive green or in bloom

Care: Fertilize with Proven Winners Continuous Release Plant Food in spring and mid-summer. Remove any dead or very old wood in spring, but avoid heavy pruning, as this will remove the flowers and/or the fruit.
