Azurri Blue Satin® sports rich blue-purple summer flowers that attract pollinators and add a pop of color to a sunny spot. It looks great as the centerpiece of large container designs or incorporated into mixed borders in the landscape. This variety produces low to no seeds so it will not spread throughout your garden, and does not require pruning or deadheading. Azurri Blue Satin is highly resiliant and can tolerate salt, heat, and drought conditions while also resisting deer.

  • 8-12 feet tall and 6-10 feet wide at maturity
  • Hardy in zones 5-9, be sure to check your USDA zone to ensure success
  • Plant in full sun (6+ hours daily)
  • Space plants 6-10 feet apart for best results
  • Produces true blue flowers with magenta-purple centers throughout summer
  • Maintains green foliage spring to frost

Care: Fertilize with Proven Winners Continuous Release Plant Food in spring and mid-summer. Regular pruning is not necessary. If any shaping is desired, do so in early spring. Note that Rose of Sharon is quite late to leaf out in spring, so be patient with it.

In Love with the Plant

Grew this plant in NY, and fell in love with it immediately. There's something unique about its blue-lavender blooms that really makes you glance at the plant twice, even in a region of the United States where Rose of Sharons are generally the reliable and hardy type to "plant and leave it alone".

Moved to California, and I can say that it is as reliable to high desert heat as it is to the hot and humid region of the Northeast. In fact, something about the heat really gets it going with growth and blooms, probably 3x as fast as my prior experience with this plant. Doesn't seem bothered too much with the ants and aphids which are all over the place in my area too, but a quick spray of pesticide is able to solve all of the problems (until the ants in my yard find the plant again). Can't wait to have these plants grow up to be my statement pieces and a nostalgic reminders to the Northeast. Still as blue as ever.

The plant was very very small. It barely had any roots. I hope and pray that it will be able to take to my soil and mature. I definitely didnt expect this much of an imature plant.

I am beyond disappointed in the size of the item I received. This was supposed to be a gallon plant it is barely worthy of a quart. I love my other proven winners rose of Sharon plants I got at Home Depot. We have a windy climate and this probably will not survive that.

This is by far the best experience I've had with online plant ordering!! I wish I had ordered all my plants through this company! I ordered 4 plants in the mix your quart option...2 hibiscus, 1 hydrangea, and 1 honeysuckle. They all arrived very quickly and were in excellent condition! They were also sizeable plants whereas some companies send tiny little ones. I just planted them yesterday so I don't know how they'll do in the long run, but they are all looking great so far. Will definitely purchase from this company again!!!

I do not know how well this plant will "do" yet as the box was damaged upon arrival and the plant was pretty tossed about. It is just now putting on leaves while its roots take hols again in its original pot. Fingers crossed.

Both of the plants arrived in great condition. I planted the Quick Fire Fab at my house in a sunny location. I am keeping it well watered. So far so good. The Rose of Sharon I purchased for my Mom's house who lives in the next town over. So far the Rose of Sharon is holding up. The service I received was excellent.
