Add 'Apple Slices' Spigelia to your garden for a splash of deep wine-red blooms and a whole lot of hummingbird charm! This native wildflower bursts into tubular flowers in late spring and early summer, staying in bloom for weeks and attracting pollinators like a magnet.

Versatile and easy to grow, Spigelia thrives in everything from dappled shade to full sun (just keep it watered in hotter spots). It’s a long-lived perennial that cleans up after itself—old blooms drop off naturally, keeping the plant fresh and tidy. Naturally found in Eastern U.S. woodlands and along streambanks, Spigelia is still rare in gardens—but not for long. Gardeners are catching on to its beauty, toughness, and pollinator power.

I think they may be dead

I think they may be dead. They were delivered upside down by Fedex but the soil was intact and there was no growth. Planted 10 days ago. A plant I started years ago is about a foot high but there is no sign of growth from the plants from Proven Winners. I'll give them another couple weeks before I declare them dead.
