The Heart to Heart® Va Va Violet™ caladium is a striking plant that commands attention with its vibrant, bright violet-pink foliage. The deep pink veining and rich green borders enhance the leaves' dramatic appearance, creating a bold contrast. The elongated, heart-shaped leaves form an upright, mounding habit, making this caladium a fantastic choice for landscapes or as a thrilling focal point in container plantings.
Adaptable as a houseplant, the Va Va Violet™ caladium thrives in bright light or a sunny window, where its colorful foliage can truly shine. Whether in your garden or as part of your indoor décor, this caladium adds a pop of vivid color and elegance to any setting.
- 15-20 inches tall and 10-14 inches wide at maturity
- Annual except in zones 10-11, be sure to check your USDA zone to ensure success
- Plant in part to full shade (up to 4 hours of sun daily)
- Space plants 10-14 inches apart for best results
- Maintains violet-pink and green variegated foliage from spring to frost
- Great for indoor bright spaces, borders, containers, combinations, landscapes, mass planting
- Resists deer
- Heat tolerant, foliage interest, adaptable as houseplant
- Keep away from pets and children, toxic if ingested or consumed
Care: If you live in a northern climate, be careful not to plant too early in spring as temperatures below 60 degrees F will chill and stunt plants. Caladiums like to be moist at all times so avoid allowing them to dry out. Fertilize with Proven Winners Water Soluble Plant Food at ¼ - ½ strength every week throughout the season.
Houseplant: Caladiums can also be grown as houseplants where they prefer bright light or a sunny window. Keep the temperatures above 65 degrees F for best growth and leaf size, and a pebble tray or frequent misting can help to keep the humidity up around your plants.
According to the ASPCA, caladiums are toxic to animals if consumed.
