Paraplu Rouge displays large, dark red-pink flowers summer through fall on dark green foliage. The graceful, upright habit makes a colorful hedge or specimen plant. It attracts pollinators and resists deer.
- 6-10 ft. tall and 5 ft. wide at maturity
- Grow in zones 5-9
- Plant in full sun (6+ hours daily)
Our deciduous shrubs are entering their natural dormancy phase. As part of this process, foliage is turning colors, drying out, and falling off—this is completely normal! Shedding leaves helps the plants conserve energy and prepare for the next growing season. Rest assured, your shrubs will wake up and thrive again when it's time in your growing zone. Dormancy is how they prepare for a healthy, vibrant comeback as the seasons change!
Care: Roses of Sharon don't require much pruning. If you wish to prune them, however, early spring is the best time to do so. Fertilize every spring with Proven Winners Continuous Release Plant Food. Note that rose of Sharon is quite late to leaf out in spring, so be patient with it.
