These hydrangeas cannot be cut back or trimmed at any time of the year without impacting the bloom for either the current season or the next. Soil pH affects flower color, so expect appealing pink in neutral to slightly alkaline soil and a beautiful soft blue in acidic soils that contain aluminum.
