Vermillionaire® Large Firecracker Plant (Cuphea hybrid)

I order most of my flowers because I am older than dirt and it’s hard for me to get to garden centers.I ordered “cigar” cuphea from another site this spring. They were nicely packed, but nowhere as good as your packing! And, the sad part is that even though the “Cigar” cuphea are brighter and more intense in color, my hummers ignore them. That is why I ordered additional “firecracker” cuphea for my porch pots. Hummers love them. Hummers are my reason for flowers in a pot on my porch!

The plants I ordered had to be left on the front porch for an extra day because we were out of town when they arrived. Since they were so well packed, and still moist, they did just fine. And the temperatures that week were around 90 degrees. I unpacked them, watered them and allowed them to acclimate on my back porch for a few days. I planted them, two to a pot, and they are doing great. The plants arrived in just the right size to plant.

I will repeat my order next year, but for 14 “firecracker” cuphea, not just 4. I also plant them along the bed in front of my back porch. I learned my lesson on which plants and which online garden store to use.

Love Love Love this plant. In Zone9b they bloom all year long. And I mean all year long. You can cut them back to the ground and they’ll come back and start blooming within no time. The bees and humming birds LOVE the very pretty orange flowers too, definitely the most active plant in my yard with the pollinators.

Smaller than I expected. I put them in pots and it rained for about 4 days. They seem to be rebounding now that they are getting sun.

Once we saw how the hummingbirds gravitated to this plant we make sure we have them every year. This year we have 3 in our pollinator garden and can't wait for our evening hummingbird shows!

Great plant for hummingbirds!! arrived, super healthy and intact even though the shipper put the box on its side. They’re very well protected. I put two of these together in one 5 gallon garden pot on my patio. So far so good.!!

I order several vermillionaire plants every year. Last year I ordered one larger size and five smaller size. Frankly within a month I couldn't tell which was the larger, more expensive plant as the small plants grew so fast. This plant has never failed to attract hummingbirds and in fact they prefer this to sugar water.

I ordered multiple plants for my hummingbird garden. They arrived in great condition and some have already started blooming.

Absolutely love this plant. I buy from your company as you have vermillionaire available in March and I like to plant before April in time for the hummingbirds. It attracts hummingbirds more than any plant, it’s fabulous. Your plant quality is super.

I love these plants! They really bring in the hummingbirds!

So far so good. Woyldove to see new blooms after a week and a half but…I can wait I guess.
