Blue Chiffon produces large blue-lavender flowers each adorned with a lacy center to create an anemone-like bloom that stands out in late summer to early fall. Refined, rounded habit with soft, elegant stems, that produces few to no seeds. It is heat, drought, and salt tolerant, deer resistant, and attracts pollinators to boot! Whether you plant one striking specimen or mix and match for a colorful collection, you will see that Chiffon series Roses of Sharon are anything but conventional.

  • 8-12 feet tall and 6-10 feet wide at maturity
  • Hardy in zones 5-9, be sure to check your USDA zone to ensure success

  • Space plants 6-10 feet apart for best results
  • Produces blue-lavender flowers throughout summer
  • Maintains dark foliage spring to frost
  • Blooms on new wood
  • Great for borders, containers, screening, landscape, mass planting or as a focal point
  • Attracts bees, butterflies and hummingbirds while resisting deer
  • Heat, drought and salt tolerant, long blooming, low maintenance

Care: Fertilize with Proven Winners Continuous Release Plant Food in spring and mid-summer. Requires well-draining soil. Regular pruning is not necessary. If any shaping is desired, do so in early spring. Note that Rose of Sharon is quite late to leaf out in spring, so be patient with it.
