Please note: Our Ships Now perennials are still waking up from dormancy. In the spring, as temperatures rise and daylight hours increase, perennials begin to emerge from dormancy, pushing new shoots from their roots. Most dormant plants start showing new growth in late March or early April, depending on the specific plant and local weather conditions.

A brilliantly colored, ornamental grass that's perfect for contrast in your sun garden! 'Lemon Squeeze' behaves like other Fountain Grass but boasts chartreuse gold leaves. One of the best for vigor that we've seen in gold-leafed Pennisetum with absolutely no burning in the sun. Copper panicles appear above the foliage in midsummer and provide additional interest to this three seasons grass. Did we mention it resist deer?!

  • 3 ft tall and 2-3 ft wide at maturity
  • Hardy in zones 4-9, be sure to check your USDA zone to ensure success
  • Full sun (6+ hours) required

Our perennial plants are entering their natural dormancy phase. As part of this process, foliage and blooms are browning and dying back—this is completely normal! We give the plants a hard trim in our greenhouse to support them as they conserve energy for the next growing season. Rest assured, your perennials will wake up and thrive again when it's time in your growing zone. Dormancy is how they prepare for a healthy, vibrant comeback as the seasons change!

Care: Fertilize with Proven Winners Continuous Release Plant Food in spring and mid-summer.
