The Let's Dance Lovable® Bigleaf Hydrangea is so stunning and colorful that any photo of it looks edited! Like many Let's Dance hydrangeas, it's a larger mid-sized shrub that naturally mounds extremely well. It has warm green foliage, on top of which it shows off its true colors, and during the fall turns a vibrant red. Every bloom looks like its own flavor of cotton candy, with flowers of baby blue, soft pink, and lavender mixing together to create a truly dreamy shrub that's ready to perform.

  • 3-4 feet tall and wide at maturity
  • Hardy in zones 5-9, be sure to check your USDA zone to ensure success
  • Plant in part to full sun in northern climates and part sun (4+ hours daily) in southern climates
  • Space plants 3-4 feet apart for best results
  • Produces plentiful mophead blooms in pink, purple or blue depending on soil pH
  • Maintains green foliage spring and summer transitioning to burgundy in the fall
  • Blooms on new and old wood
  • Great for border, container, cut flowers, dried flowers, landscape, mass planting
  • Long blooming, rebloomer, disease resistant, foliage interest, fall interest

Please note: Our Ships Now shrubs are still waking up from dormancy! Care: Fertilize with Proven Winners Continuous Release Plant Food in spring and mid-summer. Pruning is not generally recommended. Although its flower buds are formed on both old wood and new wood, any cuts will impact its flowering potential. Dead or damaged wood can be removed at any time, just cut back to a set of leaves. If you’d like to prune to shape the plant, this can be done when the plant is starting to break dormancy in late winter or early spring, just look for swelling green leaf buds. Deadheading can be done after bloom, just follow the stem down to the first set of leaves and cut ¼ of an inch above them. Soil pH affects flower color, expect pink blooms in alkaline soils and blue to purple blooms in acidic soils where aluminum is present.

I only wish I had bought the gallon plant. Bloomed twice, blooming now, in September in San Jose area, Calif. the leaves don’t do well with water on them in my area, so I moved to watering with a drip instead of lawn sprinkler. Blooms are the about size of a large yogurt container. (Or a large roll of Charmin, or an American softball—hope one of those helps you!)

I received my loveable hydrangea perfectly packed and shipping did not take a toll at all. Even the dirt was still moist. The plant overall looks very healthy. But, I’ve noticed it was pruned prior and some leaves torn almost in half. I e not been too concerned about the leaves because as I said, the plant still looks healthy so it doesn’t seem to be taking a toll. So many stems have been cut back, and I see no sign of any buds growing. I’m still not sure if this is standard to be received this way. I was so looking forward to maybe a bloom or two, as it’s leafed out great and a good size also! I don’t think I will be seeing any though.
